ISRAEL AND THE COMING PEACE — Could Psalm 83 Be the Missing Piece of End-Times Bible Prophecy? (KJV)

November 2, 2026 | www.GospelofJesusChrist.blog | River Wilde

I would like to thank the reader who has given me some additional information, Psalm 83, to consider and study. It was time well spent, and I again appreciate their involvement.

In our studies, we have been contemplating where the rapture fits in the prophetic Timeline. The God Magog Battle must take place before the antichrist is revealed, which starts the 7-year Tribulation Period. However, the battle can only begin when there is peace in Israel, which is not the current stats.

Does Psalm 83 give us additional information to clarify the timeline? Could it also give us additional clues regarding how peace will come to Israel? Let’s get into it, to see what new information can be gleaned from these prophetic words.

Are today’s escalating conflicts in the Middle East preparing the way for a major war involving Israel’s neighboring enemies? And could such a war actually lead to the period of peace and security described in Bible prophecy?

Today, I would like to share a fascinating possibility that may help us better understand the order of events leading toward the seven-year Tribulation.

We have previously studied the Rapture, the Gog and Magog War, the Antichrist, and the seven-year covenant described in Daniel 9:27.

But there may be another important piece of this prophetic puzzle that deserves our attention.

It is found in Psalm 83.

Let’s examine what the King James Bible tells us, compare it with events taking place in the Middle East today, and consider how a regional conflict could potentially lead to Israel experiencing a period of peace.

1. What Is Happening in Israel and the Middle East Today?

As of November 2, 2026, the Middle East remains extremely unstable.

Consider several recent developments:

  • Israel and Lebanon: Despite diplomatic efforts and a U.S.-backed peace framework, major disagreements remain over Hezbollah’s disarmament, Israeli military withdrawal, and border security.
  • Hezbollah: An October 26 Reuters investigation reported that the Iran-backed organization has been rebuilding military capabilities, including explosives and drones, in preparation for possible renewed fighting.
  • Iran: Negotiations between the United States and Iran remain uncertain. An Iranian delegation recently departed Qatar, while threats of renewed military confrontation continue.
  • Gaza: A fragile ceasefire remains under strain, with additional Israeli strikes reported November 2 and major disagreements concerning Hamas disarmament and Israeli withdrawal.

These developments demonstrate that Israel has not achieved the lasting regional peace that so many people desire.

And this brings us to an interesting question:

Could the continuing hostility surrounding Israel eventually lead to the kind of regional conflict described in Psalm 83?

2. What Does Psalm 83 Tell Us?

Let’s begin with Psalm 83:4 (KJV):

“They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.”

Notice the objective of Israel’s enemies.

They do not simply want a military victory. They want Israel eliminated as a nation.

Now consider Psalm 83:5:

“For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:”

The following verses identify several ancient peoples who were hostile toward Israel, including Edom, Moab, Ammon, the Philistines, Tyre, and others.

Many of these peoples lived in territories associated with modern-day Jordan, Lebanon, Gaza, and surrounding regions. However, these ancient names do not correspond perfectly to today’s national borders.

Also, we should remember that Psalm 83 was written centuries before the founding of Islam. It does not specifically identify a future coalition of Muslim nations.

Nevertheless, some Bible prophecy teachers believe this passage could have a future fulfillment involving Israel’s immediate neighbors.

Could the hostility described in Psalm 83 develop into a major regional war in our lifetime?

It is possible, although Scripture does not explicitly say Psalm 83 predicts a future war. The psalm itself is a prayer asking God to intervene against Israel’s enemies. With this understood, let’s continue.

3. Could Israel Win This War and Experience Peace?

Here is where this prophetic possibility becomes particularly interesting.

Suppose a major conflict develops between Israel and several surrounding hostile forces.

Now suppose Israel successfully defeats those forces or significantly reduces their ability to threaten the nation.

What might happen afterward?

Israel could potentially experience a period of increased security.

A military victory might also be followed by diplomatic agreements with neighboring governments.

For the first time in many years, Israel might feel considerably safer from immediate threats.

This brings us to an important passage in Ezekiel.

Ezekiel 38:8 (KJV):

“…and they shall dwell safely all of them.”

Now read Ezekiel 38:11:

“And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,”

Think about what we have just read!

Before the Gog and Magog invasion, Ezekiel describes Israel as dwelling safely.

Yet Israel today continues to experience significant security threats.

Something must account for the conditions described in Ezekiel 38.

Could a successful regional conflict, possibly corresponding to Psalm 83, help bring about those conditions?

That is certainly one possibility.

But we should also consider that peace agreements, changes in regional alliances, or other developments could create those circumstances without a separate Psalm 83 war.

4. What Happens After Israel Experiences Security?

Now let’s examine what Ezekiel says happens next.

Ezekiel 38:14–16 describes Gog preparing to invade Israel during a period when the people are dwelling safely.

This invasion is commonly called the Gog and Magog War.

Unlike the proposed Psalm 83 conflict, Ezekiel 38 describes an invading coalition that includes peoples associated with more distant territories.

But something extraordinary happens.

God Himself intervenes against the invading armies.

Ezekiel 38:22 (KJV):

“And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.”

God will win this battle HIMSELF! He will do it with His powers, not through a military resolution.

Now notice God’s purpose in the following verse.

Ezekiel 38:23 (KJV):

“Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.”

This is an extremely important part of the prophecy.

God’s victory is not simply about protecting Israel. It is about revealing His power and holiness to the nations of the world.

Could such an extraordinary event also lead to major political changes throughout the Middle East?

Yes, it certainly could.

5. Could These Events Lead to the Seven-Year Peace Agreement?

Now let’s examine Daniel 9:27 (KJV):

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…”

Within the pre-Tribulation prophetic interpretation we have been studying, this one week represents seven years.

Many prophecy teachers understand this covenant as an agreement involving Israel and the future Antichrist.

Now consider a possible sequence.

First, Israel experiences a regional conflict.

Second, Israel emerges with greater security. They are now in a place of peace, which is the qualifying condition for the Gog Magog battle to begin.

Third, Gog and Magog invade Israel, only to experience God’s supernatural judgment.

Fourth, the nations recognize the enormous significance of what has happened and begin pursuing new arrangements for regional security.

Finally, a powerful political leader confirms the covenant described in Daniel 9:27.

Could these events provide the circumstances leading to the final seven-year covenant?

Yes, this is a possible interpretation.

6. What About the Rapture?

We certainly cannot leave out the Rapture!

First Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV) tells us:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

We know from these verses that believers will be caught up to meet Jesus Christ.

However, Scripture does not directly tell us whether the Rapture occurs before or after a proposed Psalm 83 conflict or the Gog and Magog invasion.

Under the pre-Tribulation interpretation, the Rapture occurs before the seven-year Tribulation. The driving reasons to this conclusion is that God will first be removing His spirit (2 Thessalonians 2:6–8 (KJV), and that followers of Jesus Christ are not appointed to wrath, Thessalonians 5:9–10 (KJV).

This leaves open several possibilities regarding the events preceding that period.

7. Putting the Possible Events Together

Here is one possible sequence worth considering:

OrderPossible eventKJV reference
1Increasing hostility surrounding IsraelPsalm 83:4–8 as a possible parallel
2Possible regional conflict involving Israel’s neighborsPsalm 83, if interpreted prophetically
3Israel experiences increased securityEzekiel 38:8, 11
4Gog and Magog invade IsraelEzekiel 38–39
5God supernaturally defeats the invading armiesEzekiel 38:18–23
6Rapture of the Church1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
7Seven-year covenant confirmedDaniel 9:27
8Covenant broken at the midpointDaniel 9:27
9Jesus Christ returns in gloryRevelation 19:11–21

Important: This is a possible sequence, not a guaranteed biblical timetable. The placement of the Rapture, Gog’s invasion, and the covenant remains debated among Christians who study end-times prophecy.

8. Are We Watching These Prophecies Prepare to Unfold?

Look at the Middle East today.

We see military confrontations, fragile ceasefires, threats of renewed warfare, negotiations involving major world powers, and continuing efforts to establish regional security.

It is understandable that those studying end times prophecy find these developments particularly interesting.

No one can presently demonstrate that Psalm 83 is beginning to be fulfilled.

Nevertheless, studying these passages helps us recognize what the Bible says about Israel’s future and God’s ultimate purposes.

And there is another scripture that deserves our attention.

First Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV):

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”

Isn’t that interesting?

The Apostle Paul warns of sudden destruction associated with declarations of peace and safety.

Ezekiel also describes Israel dwelling safely before a major invasion.

These passages are not explicitly identified as describing the same event, but the similarity gives us another reason to study them carefully.

9. What Should Christians Be Doing Today?

Regardless of whether Psalm 83 describes a future conflict, our responsibility as believers remains the same.

We should place our faith in Jesus Christ rather than in our ability to predict world events.

There are many of you doing just this! I certainly have faith in Jesus Christ, yet, I cannot leave investigating scripture alone. These investigations have nothing to do with my testimony, or faith in knowing that God is in control of His end-times plan, I simply cannot stop digging into each word of prophecy.

Something very important to note here. WE DO NOT need to know each step, nor sequence of end times prophecy. God’s plan will continue on, just as He has planned. Knowing each and every detail does not give us an advantage. HOWEVER, the is one thing that you MUST know regarding end times prophecy…And you already know what that is. Ensuring that you have accepted Jesus Christ into your life and experienced the rebirth of being “Born Again” as taught by Jesus Christ in New Testament scripture.

Without this, you will miss the rapture, and face every other detail regarding end times prophecy. And if this is the case, knowing these prophecies certainly will give you the advantage, so that you do not lose your very soul by accepting the mark of the beast.

Final Thoughts — Could Psalm 83 Be the Missing Piece?

As we put these prophetic passages together, I believe Psalm 83 deserves thoughtful consideration.

Could a regional conflict involving Israel’s immediate neighbors eventually produce a period of greater security?

Could that security help explain the conditions described in Ezekiel 38?

And could the supernatural defeat of Gog and Magog contribute to the political circumstances preceding the seven-year covenant?

These are reasonable questions, and the proposed connections are worth studying.

However, the most important certainty is not the timing of a future war or treaty.

It is the promise of Jesus Christ.

John 14:3 (KJV):

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

What a wonderful promise! This is the important message of this article!

We may not know exactly how all the pieces of end-times prophecy will fit together. But we can know the One who holds the future.

Keep your faith in Jesus Christ, remain watchful, and remember that God’s promises will be fulfilled in His perfect timing.

For those of you who are enthralled with the details of end times prophecy, I will continue investigating and digging into each prophecy to better understand its teachings, I invite you to continue to join me.

I still feel a very inspired green light to continue with these investigations, and teachings. God wants us to know His plan, which is why He has revealed His secrets to His servants the Prophets. I am indeed grateful that He wants us to know. With each additional finding, I receive the reassurance that God’s plan is indeed playing out, just as He promised. I find a closeness to Him when I study His words. THIS is why I cannot leave it alone =)
