Preface

This book is written with a single focus: to return to the words of Jesus Christ and allow Him to define His own Gospel.

Over time, Christianity has developed many interpretations, traditions, and institutional structures that—while often well-intentioned—can sometimes obscure the simplicity and power of Christ’s original teachings. The purpose of this work is not to attack faith, nor to diminish the devotion of sincere believers. Rather, it is to gently refocus attention on the teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament, and to examine them with honesty, clarity, and spiritual sincerity.

The central question guiding this book is simple:

What did Jesus Christ actually teach—and how do those teachings apply to salvation, truth, and eternal life today?

Each section explores a foundational topic of the Christian faith, including the Atonement, baptism, grace, judgment, the Holy Spirit, and the promise of eternity. It also addresses deeply personal subjects such as religious disappointment, forgiveness, and the process of discovering truth when spiritual expectations have been challenged or broken.

This book is not written from a position of superiority, but from a place of seeking. It reflects years of reflection, study, personal experience, and sincere desire to understand the Gospel as Christ presented it.

Above all, it is written with the belief that:

Truth does not fear examination.
And Jesus Christ is the source of all truth.

If this work helps even one reader come closer to Christ, understand His grace more clearly, or find peace in their relationship with God, then its purpose will have been fulfilled.

May the reader approach these pages with an open heart, a willing mind, and a desire to hear the voice of Christ above all else.
