To RELIGIOUS People through the World, WHY are You Still Trying to Navigate Life on Your Own? Let Me Show You a Better Way (KJV)

November 1, 2026 | www.GospelofJesusChrist.blog | River Wilde

Let me begin by saying that my intention today is NOT to criticize anyone. Rather, I had lived my “spiritual life” a certain way, and have come to find out such a better way to proceed, and would like to share it with you.

Tell me if this sounds fimilure with the way that you live?

You have a strong belief in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.

You PRAY often.

You believe that God hears and answers our prayers.

When faced with hardship in your life, you quickly get on your knees and tell your

problem to God.

THEN…………………….

You begin to tell God how to resolve your problems.

Since it is your life, you feel that you can see the problem for what it is, and have

spent time pondering the best solution, and are asking for His help.

When your prayer is complete, you shift into FAITH mode, and have faith that God will

Answer your prayer as you have “requested”

So, be honest here. Is this similar to your “procedure” in dealing with problems in your life? It was mine!

If this is you, you also perhaps have often noted that some prayers have gone unanswered.

In trying to understand that, you have determined that it was probably because:

Your faith was not adequate

God must be busy, or perhaps forgotten about us

You recognize that God must know what is best, and leave it at that

Today, I want to share something that has made such a dramatic difference in my spiritual live.

The moment that something comes up in my life that results in a hardship, I give that problem to God!

In a prayer, I simply state what I am facing, and give it to Him. No instructions on how to solve it…nothing. I take my hardship, and give it all to God.

In doing so, God also takes the BURDEN from me.

So how and why does this work? Let’s go to the scriptures for just a moment.

First of all, this is actually what God tells us to do:

Psalm 55:22 (KJV)

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Matthew 11:28–30 (KJV)

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

A simple explanation from someone who has started doing this is that, I no longer have the sole responsibility of solving the problem. (That will make sense to some of you). It is not all up to me to get my family through a crisis. There is an incredible amount of pressure that is placed upon some people when a problem arises, due to the fact that we feel 100% that it is up to us to resolve it.

These are the same people who do not share their burdens with others, and try to deal with them entirely on their own.

So, the “hand off” has just taken place. The burden was just given to God. Now what?

With the pressure of resolution eliminated (or reduced), it is now time to let the Leader resolve the problem, using His wisdom, foresight, knowledge and insight.

He will on occasion prompt you to take action, and do something that He feels is necessary in resolving the problem.

The follow scripture fits here quite nicely:

James 2:17 (KJV)

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

Now, we know that our good works have nothing to do with entering heaven. Our spiritual rebirth, and accepting the atonement of Jesus Christ is all that is needed there. However, our works are proof of this new rebirth.

But specific to the concept that I am sharing, we can not just give our burdens to God, and have faith that He will resolve it entirely on His own. He expects us to take action when He prompts us to do so.

I must also mention something additionally as important.

God’s managing burdens does not always mean that He will remove the problem as quickly as possible. We have to remember that this earth life is intended for our growth, and spiritual development. We have been sent to this earthly institution of learning, M.S.I., Mortal State University if you will =)

The same concept still applies. If the problem’s purpose is to continue, God will give us the power and strength, as well as patience to see it through.

Let me share an illustration with you that might perhaps seem a bit silly; however, I think is teaches this concept quite well.

For a moment, let’s suppose that you have a child who is going to go to school for the very first time in kindergarten.

You’re all excited for this period of time in life. You walk her to the bus stop and see that she gets on without a problem. However, for three days, she gets off of the bus after school in tears…totally distraught, and unconsolable!

“School is HARD. It’s scary. I’m alone. I’m not learning. Kids are making fun of me. Get me out of this hardship”…and on goes the list.

As her parent, you decide to remove this burden from her life entirely. You pull her out of school, so that she doesn’t have to go through this difficulty.

Is this solution wise? Why not?

In doing so, you first have taught her that when things are hard, you quit. If you remove learning at school or anywhere else because it is HARD, you’ve robbed her of an education, and so much more.

So, for a moment let’s seriously consider… “Why do we ask God to take us out of school when it gets hard?” We all do… I DO as well.

Let’s return to this illustration with a better solution.

Your child again is giving us her solution… “Get me out of here!” She is immature, and is relying on someone who sees the entire picture. Someone who knows what is best as far as the next step. YOU, the parent.

As the parent, you do not remove her from school, rather, you remove the burden from her. You take on her BURDEN, and provide leadership, and resolution.

She’s alone, so you go and sit with her at school each day so that she feels more comfortable.

You both identify the fun things about school.

You help her make friends, even finding a lifetime friendship with someone special in her life.

Learning is a team event. YOU, her and the teacher.

By doing these things, your daughter realizes that her burden has been lifted, because you now have it, and you also are providing solutions for each of the struggles that she is experiencing.

Doesn’t this make total sense? God is the parent here in this scenario, and all of us are this child going to school for the first time. When we try to do it alone, as this little girl tried, it is difficult and at times even impossible.

God sees the entire picture. He also knows the very best way to navigate through the issue, AS WELL AS, gives us the opportunity and experience to increase in our growth. Let Him DRIVE. Give Him the burden and let HIM call the shots. Have faith that He will manage the problem in the most ideal way.

Since I am at it today, I’d like to give you another answer from the back of the teacher’s book.

THE most important reason that we are here on earth, as well as the top of the list item for us to have problems is THIS:

God wants us to KNOW that we need Him!

It is the exact same thing with the atonement. There is NO WAY that we can make it into heaven on our own. We MUST have and accept the atonement of Jesus Christ in order to have our sins forgiven.

It took me getting lost in a snowy forest, throughout the night, knocking on deaths door, to finally realize that I needed God to help me. And, as soon as I asked for His help, I was rescued.

Can I just say from my experiences over the past four years, my burdens not only are easier to navigate by giving them directly to God, they seem shorter now as I fully recognize the need that I have for God and the Savior in my life.

This is an excellent way to begin your prayer in giving your burden to God…To recognize the need that you have for Him in your Life. If you believe and have faith in that statement, your burden will not need to continue on until you finally reach that point, of realizing that you need Him. (This is not scripture, rather, just my experience.)

So, for those of you who continue to question…”What was I suppose to learn from that experience?” Part of the answer is ALWAYS that you have realized and identified how much you need God in this life.

When I look back and think…”I didn’t think that I would be strong enough to go through what I just went through.” I now smile, and KNOW that I WAS NOT!!! It was God’s strength that saw me through, and always will. I give HIM all of the glory now, for I have come to realize things the way things really are, and not get puffed up thinking that it was me that just accomplished the impossible.

I invite you all to consider this important gospel teaching:

Psalm 55:22 (KJV)

“Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”

Do it as soon as the burden produces hardship.

Let God lead, let’s stop giving Him the solution list of steps.

Answer His promptings with action, our works.

Realize once again how much you need God in your life.

Give Him ALL of the Glory.

Start right now. If you are constantly worried about something, it is time to give the burden to God.

After doing this several times, you will come to see first hand that God is actually managing your burden for you. Then comes the full relief of knowing that you do not need to constantly pack around this heavy burden, because giving it to God, and following His plan is always the perfect resolution…even if we can’t see it right now because of our limited view concerning the big picture.

Many of you can relate to this, understanding the principle of repentance and forgiveness. That burden of sin is removed when we repent and ask for forgiveness.

The same is true with the principle of forgiveness. When we have been wronged, even SUBSTANCIALLY harmed, feeling such anger towards those who have hurt us, as soon as we give this to God, and offer forgiveness to that person, that burden is lifted from our life.

Forgiveness does not mean that we are ok with what they did to us, it is simply giving that burden to God, by offering forgiveness, and letting HIM MANAGE the consequences for that person. Every wrong that we do has a consequence, and we will come to find that to be the case as we sit with God and watch the films of our lives. People often explained this as “Karma.”

I wish you all the best, as we help one another navigate these end times.
