When Will the World End? Are Their Things That I Can Do Right Now to Give Me an Advantage in Navigating Through These End Times? (KJV)

People everywhere can sense that our world is changing. Wars, political turmoil, violence, disasters, technology advancing at breathtaking speed, and growing uncertainty about the future have caused many people to ask a question that mankind has probably asked for thousands of years:

When will the world end?

Maybe you have wondered the same thing. Perhaps you have been seeing end-times information on social media. Maybe you believe the return of Jesus Christ is approaching. Perhaps you are frightened by what you see happening around you.

So, what is true, and is there anything that you can do in preparation for what lies ahead of us?

Go has made us all a promise, that I would like to share with you.

Amos 3:7 (KJV):

“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

In context, Amos is emphasizing that God reveals His purposes to His prophets before bringing the judgment they are commissioned to announce. That makes it a powerful verse when discussing biblical prophecy. When God has a plan to do something dramatic on the earth, He will share His plan with His prophets FIRST.

We can see this scripture being fulfilled, because God has already revealed His plan for the Final Seven Years on Earth, to His prophets, and those prophets have recorded an abundance of information which has been preserved in the Bible.

That’s right. Over one third of the bible discusses OUR GENERATION, and the end times prophecy that we need to know about. This gives a person a tremendous advantage in knowing and preparing for what is coming.

Today, I’d like to share a SIMPLE outline regarding those prophecies, to give you a synopsis of the end times. It’s important to understand why all of these things are happening, to bring clarity to the actual events that God has planned.

The final seven years on earth is the conclusion of the battle between Good and evil. Between God and satan.

God’s Purpose

God’s purpose for the final seven years, referred to as the 7-year Tribulation Period, is to bring judgment upon the evil and sin of this world, while using the hardships and judgments of the Tribulation to call people to repentance and back to Him.

Even during this terrible time, God will continue giving people opportunities to turn to Jesus Christ and be saved (Revelation 7:9–14; 14:6–7 KJV). The seven years will ultimately bring an end to man’s rebellion, defeat the Antichrist and his evil system, and prepare the earth for the return and reign of Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:11–21; 20:1–6 KJV).

Team Evil’s Plan

There will be a new world leader emerge, known in the bible as the Antichrist (the Beast,) accompanied by a false prophet, to work together to deceive the world and turn mankind away from God and toward Satan’s counterfeit kingdom. This is in essence an all-out final assault that satan will have upon mankind, for he knows that time is running out.

Why is God allowing Satan to have this time on earth?

The answer is simple. It is the same reason that God has allowed satan to tempt and influence mankind from the beginning of time.

In the KJV, God allows Satan a limited time on earth because God has not yet brought His final judgment upon evil. Satan is permitted to tempt and deceive, but he is never outside God’s ultimate authority—Job 1:10–12 shows that even Satan’s actions have limits.

This period also allows human beings to freely choose whom they will follow, revealing what is in their hearts, and giving people time to repent and turn to God (2 Peter 3:9).

During the end times, Satan’s activity becomes especially intense because “he knoweth that he hath but a short time” (Revelation 12:12 KJV).

But God has already revealed Satan’s ending: Christ will defeat his rebellion, Satan will ultimately be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10), and evil will not continue forever.

So, in simple terms, God permits Satan temporary freedom, but Satan does not have unlimited freedom; God is allowing His plan of redemption, human choice, repentance, and judgment to reach its appointed conclusion before evil is permanently removed.

This is the purpose of the final seven years on earth from both perspectives.

This new leader will be “introduced” to the world stage, when signing a 7-year peace agreement with Israel and surrounding nations. He will be seen as a problem solving, charismatic, wonderful leader that the world has been waiting for. He will be a master deceiver, and will use his influence in trying to gain loyalty and worship from all mankind, taking everyone possible away from Jesus Christ.

For just a moment, I want to share the harshness of God’s judgments to give you a feel for the “terrible” times that are coming to the earth. These are in chronological order, with the intensity increasing around the 3.5-year mark into the 7-year Tribulation Period.

Now, onto the Question of this article: “When will the World End?”

I have studied End Times Prophecy Full Time for the past 4 years. Let me share my findings in a brief answer to that question:

Parable of the Fig Tree – Israel Established as a Nation

No person can give the exact date when this present world will reach its prophetic conclusion, because Jesus said, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man” (Matthew 24:36 KJV).

Yet Jesus also taught His followers to recognize the season by watching the signs He gave (Matthew 24:32–33).

One major event watched by many students of Bible prophecy is the restoration of Israel as a nation in 1948, after the Jewish people had been scattered among the nations for centuries.

Some Christians connect this remarkable restoration with prophecies such as Ezekiel 36–37 and Jesus’ lesson of the fig tree, viewing Israel’s return as an important indication that we are living late in the biblical prophetic story.

In this fig tree parable, he says:

Matthew 24:32–34 (KJV):

“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”

So how long is a generation according to the bible?

Psalm 90:10 (KJV): “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years…” That means 70 years, or perhaps 80 years with strength.

Now, let’s put all of these teachings together:

Israel became a nation in 1948.

This generation will not pass until all things have been fulfilled – Jesus Christ returning to the earth.

1948 + 70 or 80 years = is the time period from 2018 thru 2028. This is one indicator for the time that the world will end. Let’s continue.

7 Day, or 7,000 Year Period of Earth

There is also an intriguing biblical pattern involving 7,000 years, although Scripture never explicitly says that the earth has been assigned exactly 7,000 years.

Second Peter 3:8 tells us, “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” Some Bible students therefore see a pattern of approximately 6,000 years of human history followed by the 1,000-year reign of Jesus Christ described in Revelation 20:1–6—seven thousand years corresponding symbolically to seven days, with the seventh representing Christ’s millennial rest and reign.

So, let’s break this down.

We know that from the time of Adam to the time that Jesus was born is approximately 4,000 years. Jesus was on the earth, and died approximately in the year 33AD.

2,000 years from that date would complete the 6,000 years of human history followed by the 1,000-year millennial reign of Jesus Christ, ultimately completing the 7,000 years of 7 days of the earth.

The math for this one is simple. 33AD + 2,000 years = 2033. This is another time indicator of when the world will end. And finally, one more…

We are approaching approximately 2,000 years since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, traditionally dated around A.D. 30–33. Hosea 6:2 says, “After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.”

Again, the same formula appears:

33AD + 2000 years = 2033.

In its original context Hosea concerns Israel, so we should be cautious about turning those “two days” into an exact 2,000-year countdown. Nevertheless, when believers consider Israel restored to nationhood, nearly two millennia since Christ’s resurrection, and the biblical thousand-year/day pattern, they may reasonably see these as reasons to watch the times closely.

Now the final clue, or information that we should be considering.

We again know through the prophecies recorded in the bible, that their will be a 7-year Tribulation Period before the “End of the World,” and the final return of Jesus Christ. THIS 7-YEAR PERIOD has NOT started yet, and this is where things get very interesting.

If we use the latest year possible from the three identifies above, which is 2033, and subtract 7 years (the Tribulation Period) that gives us the calendar year of 2026. Are you seeing the significance here?

The tribulation period of the final 7 years on earth will begin in 2026, according to these findings.

So, what can you do to prepare for what’s coming?

This might be a new teaching for you, so I’d like you to prayerfully consider and study this for yourself.

The Rapture

Again, let’s zoom out for just a moment, and see the purpose of God’s plan for a minute.

God’s vengeance is with evil. He is punishing those people who have rejected Him and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But the final 7 years on earth are not intended for everyone.

There are people on the earth right now, perhaps you are included in this group, who have been Born Again, or are considered to be “in Christ.” Let me show you what God has planned for you, through the prophecy teachings of the Rapture:

1 Thessalonians 4:16–18

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

The KJV does not use the word Rapture; its actual expression is “caught up.” And one more…

1 Corinthians 15:51–53 KJV

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”

This reveals the astonishing speed of the transformation: “in the twinkling of an eye.”

God is planning on removing all of those who are “in Christ” from the earth, PRIOR to the 7-year Tribulation Period even starting. This is His plan to protect His Children from the harsh events which are planned, and NOT intended for them.

How do we Know the Rapture will be Before the 7-Year Tribulation Period?

Scripture describes a present “restrainer” holding back the Antichrist until God allows this to happen. Paul writes, “only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed” (2 Thessalonians 2:7–8 KJV).

The old KJV word “letteth” means restrains.

Many believers understand this restrainer to be the Holy Spirit working through those who are “in Christ”. Therefore, they see a sequence: the restraint is removed → the Antichrist is revealed → the events associated with the Tribulation unfold.

Another major bit of information is that believers are promised deliverance from coming divine wrath. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (KJV) says, “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Jesus also tells the church at Philadelphia, “I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world” (Revelation 3:10 KJV).

Taken together, believers understand the pattern as: Christ catches away those who are “in Christ” → the restraining influence associated with the Church is removed → the Antichrist is revealed → the Tribulation and God’s judgments follow → Christ ultimately returns openly in power and glory.

And finally… The most Important Question – How Can a Person Know that They are “in Christ,” so that they can be included in the Rapture?

To “qualify” for the rapture, a person must be “in Christ”, but how do they do that? Let’s let Jesus and His apostles teach us how this is done:

A person becomes born again by placing their faith completely in Jesus Christ and what He did for them through His Atonement, death and resurrection.

We are all sinners and cannot save ourselves by our works or religious ordinances: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 KJV), but “the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV).

Jesus said, “Ye must be born again” (John 3:7 KJV).

When a person believes in Jesus Christ, trusting His sacrifice as the payment for their sins and confessing Him as Lord (Romans 10:9–10), God saves them by grace:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith... Not of works” (Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV).

At that moment, the believer receives the Holy Spirit and belongs to Christ (Ephesians 1:13; Romans 8:9). They are now “in Christ”—a new creation and a child of God: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV).

Salvation is therefore not something we earn; we receive Jesus Christ by faith, God gives us new spiritual life, and we become His.

Let me describe it this way… Jesus came to the earth to accomplish the atonement; taking upon all of the sins from mankind. He did this for everyone, but because of free agency, it is not forced upon any of us.

WE MUST CHOOSE to accept this gift that He is offering to us, or it does not apply to our lives, nor will it apply to removing the sins that we have done.

On our own, we are in trouble. We have all sinned, and the consequence of sinning is NOT to be able to live with God in heaven. It is important to see the “mess” that we are in because of our sins. Understanding this, helps us look for a solution.

So, we learn that Jesus Christ suffered and died for us, so that OUR sins can be forgiven. This is our answer!!!

To make the atonement effective in our own life, we choose to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, so that our sins can be forgiven. This happens through a conversation with God, as well as OUR FAITH in the atonement.

In a simple prayer, ask Jesus to come into your life. Accept His gift of the atonement. And repent for the sins that you have committed. Just between you and God, tell Him what you have done wrong, and ask to be forgiven.

Then have faith that He will forgive you. Have faith in Him, and what He has done for you. Give God thanks and glory for providing you with an answer to your sinful life.

Let me tell you from personal experience what happens when you do this. You indeed become a different person. Because of God’s spirit that is now inside of you, your desire to sin DECREASES, and your desire to do good works INCREASES. You become the best version of yourself ever.

You don’t sin because a church tells you what you can and can’t do. You desire to sin decreases because you now have God’s spirit and power to fight the temptations of the adversary, and want to remain close to Jesus Christ.

This change is evidence that you have been born again and are in Christ.

Let me show you one last thing that comes from being “in Christ.” Let’s take another look at the rapture teaching:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

From the moment of being rescued from the rapture, it states that we will “ever be with the Lord.” And “ever be with the Lord” extends beyond heaven during the Tribulation.

Revelation describes Christ later returning to reign, followed by His thousand-year kingdom (Revelation 19:11–16; 20:4–6), and ultimately the new heaven and new earth where “God himself shall be with them, and be their God” (Revelation 21:3 KJV).

So, the beautiful simplicity of the promise is: at the Rapture we meet Jesus Christ, and from that moment onward—whether with Him in heaven, returning with Him, reigning with Him, or living in His eternal kingdom—we will never again be separated from our Lord.

A person “in Christ” has the certainty that they will be in Heaven, and wherever Jesus Christ is, so will they be. No more guessing… No more questions of if I have been good enough, or done enough good works. No more worries of if I have paid enough tithing. No more ANYTHING, for you know that you will be in Heaven because of Jesus Christ, and what He has done for us…And OUR Recognition and faith in the importance of receiving His gift of the atonement.

So, when will the end of the earth be? To me this question is irrelevant, for I will not be here when it happens.

My focus is, when will the rapture happen that will reunite me with Jesus Christ, and all of those who I love who have passed away, when I will receive my glorified perfect body, and will be returning HOME??? The year is almost up, and I know enough to say… “It won’t be long now!!”
