“Come Out of Her, My People” – Is God Calling You to Leave Religion and Follow Jesus Christ Alone? (KJV)

Imagine hearing a voice from heaven calling your name. The message is urgent. It is not simply an invitation—it is a warning.

Just before God pours out His judgment upon the earth, He speaks directly to His people:

“And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
Revelation 18:4 (KJV)

These are among the most important words spoken in the book of Revelation. But who is God speaking to? And what is He asking His people to leave?

A Surprising Discovery

Notice that God does not say, “Come out of her, unbelievers.”

He says,

“Come out of her, MY PEOPLE…”

That should cause every believer to stop and think.

If God’s own people are being called out, then some sincere followers of God must still be connected to a system that He is about to judge.

This raises a question that every Christian should ask—not about someone else, but about themselves. Could I be following a religious system more than I am following Jesus Christ?

Who Is “Her”?

In Revelation 17, John is shown a mysterious woman called “the great whore.”

“Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters.”
Revelation 17:1 (KJV)

She is later identified as:

“MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”
Revelation 17:5 (KJV)

She is described as wealthy, powerful, influential over nations, and guilty of leading people away from God.

Whether one understands Babylon primarily as a religious, political, commercial, or combined world system, the Bible presents it as a system opposed to God that ultimately deceives the nations.

God’s warning is simple: Do not remain part of it.

False Religion Often Looks Good

One of Satan’s greatest strategies has never been to make evil look evil.

He makes deception appear religious.

Many people sincerely believe they are following God while placing their confidence in traditions, organizations, ceremonies, or religious leaders rather than in Jesus Christ Himself.

Jesus warned this would happen.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24:24 (KJV)

Notice that Jesus did not describe people who wanted to reject God. He described people who could be deceived because the counterfeit appeared so convincing.

When Religion Replaces Christ

Religion itself is not the problem. The problem begins when religion becomes more important than the Savior. Whenever people begin trusting an organization more than Christ…

Whenever they believe a religious leader cannot be questioned, or challenged…like…”When the prophet speaks, the conversation is over.”

Whenever they depend upon ceremonies, ordinances, traditions, sacred buildings, or human authority for acceptance with God…

Their confidence has quietly shifted away from Jesus. The Scriptures continually point us back to one Person.

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)

There is only one Mediator. Only one Savior. Only one Head of the Church. Jesus Christ.

Beware of False Prophets

The Bible repeatedly warns believers about false prophets.

Not every false prophet appears dangerous. Many are respected. Many are admired. Many speak eloquently. Many appear sincere. Yet God tells us to examine every teaching.

Paul wrote something remarkable:

“Though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you… let him be accursed.”
Galatians 1:8 (KJV)

Think about that.

Even if an angel appeared from heaven with another gospel, believers were not to believe it. Humm…this sounds exactly like the religion that I just left.

My past religion was wrapped up in a package of “righteousness.” There were even some very good things about the “church,” yet this is exactly what Christ is warning us about through His teachings. Deception through religion. And this is why so many of my “ward family” members are still caught in the nets of deception; They think that they are being taught the SAME gospel that Jesus taught when He was on the earth!!!!!!! They are NOT. Joseph Smith did not restore the gospel of Jesus Christ, he CHANGED it…Dramatically!

Search the Scriptures in the Bible Yourself

One of the greatest days of my life is when I decided to take ownership of my spiritual learning, and not leave it in the hands of my religion. Just me, God, Jesus Christ, the Bible, and the teachings from God’s Holy Spirit. Why just the Bible? Because it was a record of what Jesus Christ and His apostles taught when they we on the earth. It was not a churches’ interpretation of the gospel, which had been the very reason that I had been religiously deceived.

“…they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
Acts 17:11 (KJV)

Notice that they did not even accept the Apostle Paul’s teaching without first comparing it to Scripture.

God never intended His people to blindly follow human leaders, and the church that I belonged to is FULL of members doing just that…”Following the prophet even over their own personal revelation from God.” They believe by following this man, they are demonstrating faith, regardless of what he says, for they have been “promised” that this “prophet” will never lead them astray. A promise? By who?

This promise comes from the very church that this leader is over. It is NOT a promise from God, for that is nowhere to be found in the writings of the bible. That promise is not even in the “scriptures” unique to that church…It’s just a promise from another man who claimed that he too was a modern-day prophet. There is no validity in such a promise, because of the lack of authority behind it.

One can not trust a false prophet, because another false prophet promised that they would never lead someone astray, for this is simple logic.

Truth does not fear investigation.

The Temple Under the New Covenant

Through a false prophet, many people believe that special buildings are necessary to approach God.

Yet after Christ’s death and resurrection, the New Testament repeatedly teaches something different.

Stephen declared:

“Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands.”
Acts 7:48 (KJV)

Paul repeated the same truth.

“God that made the world… dwelleth not in temples made with hands.”
Acts 17:24 (KJV)

Instead, believers themselves became God’s temple.

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)

Our relationship with God is no longer centered on a building, but on the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit.

Salvation Cannot Be Earned

Another mark of false religion is adding requirements to the finished work of Christ.

The Bible teaches that salvation is God’s gift.

“For by grace are ye saved through faithnot of works, lest any man should boast.”
Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)

This following Mormon teaching is FALSE:

“For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”
2 Nephi 25:23 Book of Mormon

Good works matter. Obedience matters. Serving others matters. But these are the fruit of salvation—not the price of admission into heaven.

Whenever a system teaches that eternal life depends upon our own merit, ceremonies, or religious performance, we should compare that teaching carefully with the Scriptures. We are saved by grace, and not of our own works.

God’s Final Invitation

The command to “come out of her” is not spoken in anger. It is spoken in love.

Just as Noah warned people before the Flood…

Just as Lot was called out of Sodom before judgment…

God now calls His people to leave spiritual deception before Babylon falls. He is not asking people to abandon Christ. He is asking them to leave anything that stands between themselves and Christ. Is this important to you? It is to me!!!

One Final Question

Every one of us should honestly ask:

  • Am I following Jesus Christ—or merely following a religious tradition?
  • Do I know the Scriptures (Bible) for myself?
  • Have I tested what I have been taught against God’s Word, as recorded in the Bible?
  • Is my faith resting completely upon Jesus Christ, or do I believe that the church is necessary for me to reach heaven?

One day, every church, denomination, organization, prophet, teacher, and religious institution will pass away. Only Jesus Christ will remain.

When we stand before God, we will not answer for how faithfully we followed a denomination, so why is this your mindset?

We will answer for whether we believed His Son.

The safest place anyone can stand is not under the authority of a religious system, but under the authority of the Word of God, with complete faith in Jesus Christ alone.

The invitation still echoes from heaven today:

“Come out of her, my people…”
Revelation 18:4 (KJV)

May each of us have the humility to search the Scriptures, the courage to follow wherever they lead, and the faith to place our complete trust in the One who said,

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6 (KJV)

We are about to enter into the final 7-year period on earth. Those “in Christ” will be removed from the earth through the event known as the rapture. Your “church” will likely be left upon the earth to continue deceiving you to the point of promoting the mark of the beast, and joining the coming world religion, who will worship the antichrist. If you are currently being deceived by your religion, it is very likely that this deception will continue into the 7-year Tribulation period. And, at this time, the stakes will change dramatically.

It is my belief, that the “church” will promote the antichrist as Jesus Christ who has returned for his second coming. He will demand the worship of the people, to the point of WILLINGLY accepting the “Mark of the beast” which pledges their allegiance to the adversary rather than to God…and the danger of doing this is that for those who do this, they will lose their salvation, and be cast into the “lake of fire” for eternity. No second chances!

The Bible teaches very plainly that those who knowingly worship the beast and receive his mark will face God’s judgment. The clearest passage is Revelation 14:9–11 (KJV):

“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
Revelation 14:9–11 (KJV)

Later, after Christ’s return and the Millennium, Scripture describes the final judgment:

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 20:15 (KJV)

Those who have taken the mark of the beast are among those who will face this final judgment, because they have aligned themselves with the beast rather than with Christ.

I invite all of you to “Come out of her” and study to know the true teachings of Jesus Christ, right now for yourself. If this is not important to you, let me tell you that you are indeed of spiritual danger to the extreme of even losing your very soul, and spending eternity with the adversary in the Lake of Fire. If you are right in the middle of deception right now without knowing it, you will very likely struggle with the increase in deception that is coming, and this time, the consequences are severe.

I invite you today to come to Jesus Christ. Learn of Him through His word. Believe with all your heart that He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. Trust completely in His atonement as the only payment for your salvation. Repent—turn to Him in faith—and receive Him as your Savior. He has promised that whosoever cometh to Him He will be saved.
