Caleb was seventeen years old and fascinated by end-times videos.
Almost every night he watched clips about wars, earthquakes, world leaders, artificial intelligence, economic collapse, and mysterious signs in the sky. Some people said the rapture would happen next month. Others claimed they knew the identity of the Antichrist. The more Caleb watched, the more confused he became.
One evening, long after everyone else had gone to bed, he sat alone in his room scrolling through another video.
“Are we living in the last days?”
“What if I miss the rapture?”
“What if I’m not ready?”
The questions echoed through his mind.
Finally, he reached for the Bible his grandmother had given him years before. Dust covered the cover. He opened it and began reading the words of Jesus.
Almost immediately, something surprised him.
Jesus talked far more about deception than He did about dates.
“Take heed that no man deceive you.” (Matthew 24:4 KJV)
Caleb stopped.
He had spent hundreds of hours studying signs, but very little time studying Christ Himself.
As he continued reading, another verse caught his attention.
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me…” (Matthew 7:23 KJV)
The words hit him hard.
Who was he talking about right here? These people were religious. They believed they were serving God. Yet Jesus said He never knew them?
For the first time, Caleb realized the most important question about the end times was not, “When will Jesus come?” The most important question was, “Do I know Jesus Christ, and does He know me?”
The next few weeks changed everything.
Caleb discovered that salvation was not earned through good works, church attendance, family traditions, or trying harder.
He read:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8 KJV)
Then he read Jesus’ words:
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3 KJV)
Suddenly, it all became clear. The end times were not merely about world events. They were about people deciding what they would do with Jesus Christ. Some would follow Him. Others would be deceived. Some would trust in religion. Others would trust in Christ alone.
That night, Caleb knelt beside his bed and placed his faith completely in the Savior who had died for his sins and risen again.
The fear that had haunted him for months began to disappear. The world around him had not changed. The headlines had not changed. The uncertainty of the future had not changed. But Caleb had changed.
For the first time in his life, he understood that his hope was not found in predicting future events.
His hope was found in Jesus Christ.
Years later, whenever people asked Caleb what young people needed to know about the end times, his answer was always the same:
“Don’t spend so much time looking for the Antichrist that you forget to look to Christ. The most important preparation for the last days is to know the One who is coming.”
“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.” (1 John 2:28 KJV)
In a world filled with uncertainty, fear, and constant change, there is a peace that cannot be found in money, success, religion, or human wisdom. That peace is found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When a person places their trust in Him and rests in His finished work, they discover a peace that remains even when life’s storms are raging.
Jesus Himself said:
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
— John 14:27 (KJV)
The peace of Christ is not based upon circumstances. It comes from knowing that your sins have been forgiven, that you belong to Him, and that your eternal future is secure in His hands. The believer can rest knowing that God is in control.
The Apostle Paul wrote:
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:7 (KJV)
When worries arise and the future seems uncertain, those who know Jesus Christ can remember His promise:
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
True peace is not found in knowing what tomorrow holds. True peace is found in knowing the One who holds tomorrow. For those who are in Christ, there is comfort, hope, assurance, and a peace that this world can never take away.
So tonight, give yourself to Jesus Christ through prayer, and ask Him to remove the burdens of your worries regarding the events of the end-times. Repent for those things that you have done wrong…He is waiting, and will be listening. And, almost immediately, He will remove those burdens that sin has caused in your life. You need not every worry about what tomorrow will bring, for you now belong to Him. Let HIM drive while you navigate the trials here on earth.
Then TRUST Him! Have faith in His promises. He is very aware of what is coming, for the events are all part of His plan to bring people to Christ, as well as resolve evil that is upon the earth.
You will now belong to Him…The KING! He will be fighting the battle between good and evil. Hold onto His promise that He will win this battle. We do not need to fight, rather, we need to have faith in our leader.
And finally, when a person goes through this spiritual rebirth, they are given His Spirit that will dwell inside of you.
The power of the Spirit of God within a believer is one of the greatest blessings of being born again. The Bible teaches that when a person places their faith in Jesus Christ, God gives them His Holy Spirit to dwell within them. The Spirit comforts, teaches, guides, convicts, strengthens, and transforms the believer from the inside out.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God…” (1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV)
The Holy Spirit gives believers power to live for Christ:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8 KJV)
He guides us into truth:
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13 KJV)
He helps us overcome sin:
“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16 KJV)
He gives assurance that we belong to God:
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” (Romans 8:16 KJV)
And He strengthens us during trials:
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” (Ephesians 3:16 KJV)
A simple way to understand it is this: The Christian life is not lived by human strength alone. The Spirit of God lives within every born-again believer, giving them the power, wisdom, comfort, and guidance to follow Jesus Christ until the day they see Him face to face.
I can testify to the truthfulness of what I have written, for they are not my teachings, rather, they are the teachings of Jesus Christ when He was on the earth. I invite you to urgently spend time in you too, knowing of their truthfulness.
