The Ark of the Covenant – Will it Play a Role in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ? (KJV)

Many of us watched the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” movie years ago, and were fascinated regarding the powers that the Ark of the Covenant. Was this just Hollywood’s version of being dramatic for entertainment purpose, or does the Ark possess such power?

Where is that ark today? And, perhaps a more intriguing question is, will the Ark of the Covenant be used in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, or in the 7-year Tribulation period?

I’d like to approach these questions by using the writings of the bible, which provide some direction for us to understand.

What was in the Ark of the Covenant

According to the KJV Bible, the Ark of the Covenant contained sacred items that represented God’s covenant, authority, provision, and testimony to Israel.

The book of Hebrews gives the clearest summary:

“Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant.”Hebrews 9:4 (KJV)

Inside this ark were:

1. The Tables of the Covenant — The Ten Commandments

These were the stone tablets written by the finger of God and given to Moses on Mount Sinai.

2. The Golden Pot of Manna

Manna was the miraculous bread God provided from heaven while Israel wandered in the wilderness.

It represented God’s supernatural provision, His faithfulness, and mankind’s dependence upon Him.

Jesus later connected manna symbolically to Himself as the “bread of life.”

3. Aaron’s Rod That Budded

Aaron’s staff miraculously blossomed and produced almonds as a sign that God had chosen him and the Levitical priesthood.

It represented God’s authority, divine appointment, and confirmation of the true priesthood.

4. The Mercy Seat

Although not placed inside the Ark, the top covering of the Ark was called the Mercy Seat. Two golden cherubim overshadowed it.

This was the place where:

  • sacrificial blood was sprinkled on the Day of Atonement,
  • and where God’s presence symbolically dwelt among His people.

The Ark was considered so holy because it represented:

  • God’s throne,
  • His holiness,
  • judgment,
  • mercy,
  • covenant,
  • and His presence with Israel.

The Ark was therefore much more than a sacred box—it was a powerful symbol of God dwelling among mankind.

The Last “Sighting” of the Ark of the Covenant

The last confirmed biblical mention of the Ark of the Covenant being physically present appears to be in the days of King Josiah, roughly 620–609 BC.

Scripture says:

“And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the Lord, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden upon your shoulders…”2 Chronicles 35:3 (KJV)

This is important because it shows that in Josiah’s day, the Ark was still known and apparently was being returned or placed properly into Solomon’s Temple.

After that, the Bible goes silent regarding the physical Ark on earth.

Then came Nebuchadnezzar’s destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC. Babylon looted the temple treasures (2 Kings 25), but interestingly, the Ark is not listed among the captured items.

But, let’s also consider this interesting scripture from Jeremiah:

“And it shall come to pass… saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Lord: neither shall it come to mind… neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more. Jeremiah 3:16 (KJV)

This is striking because it suggests that in God’s future kingdom, the physical Ark is no longer the focus. Why? Because God’s presence Himself becomes central—not a sacred object.

This points to an important shift in the purpose of the Ark of the Covenant, and the scripture tells us “neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.”

Jesus Christ fulfilled what the Ark represented

The Ark symbolized:

  • God’s presence,
  • mercy (the mercy seat),
  • covenant,
  • holiness,
  • atonement blood.

The New Testament points believers to Christ Himself as the fulfillment of what those shadows represented (see Hebrews 9–10). Through Him, believers have direct access to God.

Does this mean that the Ark has fulfilled its purpose on Earth? Let’s keep learning.

Revelation shows the Ark in heaven

John wrote:

“And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament…” — Revelation 11:19 (KJV)

Many believers understand this to mean:

  • either there is a heavenly Ark, of which Moses’ Ark was only a pattern,
  • or it symbolizes God’s covenant faithfulness and holiness.

This passage points our attention upward—to heaven—rather than to a buried earthly relic.

The scriptures do not mention the Ark beyond what is listed above, and does not state anything regarding the Ark of the Covenant being used in the last days…HOWEVER…It does mention this:

Jesus warned:

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” — Matthew 24:24 (KJV)

Paul also wrote:

“Whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.” — 2 Thessalonians 2:9 (KJV)

And Revelation describes a false prophet performing dramatic signs that lead many astray (Revelation 13).

The pattern is clear: deception will likely include counterfeit spirituality—things that appear holy, miraculous, ancient, or divinely authorized.

Could sacred objects be used deceptively?

I feel STRONGLY, that this indeed will be the case during the 7-year Tribulation Period. The use of counterfeit relics such as the Ark of the Covenant to deceive mankind. Why can I make such a bold presumption? Let’s again look at evidence.

We KNOW that a replica of the Ark exists.

Reports and photos from 2024 showed that a large replica of the Ark of the Covenant was displayed for a time at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. According to those involved in the project, it was built over several years using acacia wood and gold plating to closely follow Old Testament descriptions.

Many people throughout history have noticed that powerful movements, corrupt leaders, or deceptive systems often seem to “signal” their intentions before acting. Some see this as spiritual symbolism, others as psychology, and others as coincidence.

From a biblical perspective, deception often works best when truth is mixed with open signs that people ignore or dismiss. The KJV repeatedly warns that mankind is told beforehand about coming deception, yet many still choose not to see it.

So, a WARNING to the world. It is VERY Likely that when you see the Ark of the Covenant being opened leading to supernatural events, that you are witnessing deception at its greatest moment. It will simply be this replica as shown above, as well as deceptive actions from team evil.

History, as well as Hollowood movies have shown us the power that this ark has. We KNOW this is the case, so we would EXPECT supernatural things, should we see this replica used, unless we were expecting deception, as it will very well be.

For those of you who are awake and are studying the Bible, you are very aware of what the next seven years will bring. To those who do not want to be inconvenienced by study, and are leaning on church leaders to lead the way, you are in for one incredible bumpy ride. And sadly, some of you will even lose your very souls through the deception that is recorded in the prophecies of the Bible.

Amos 3:7 (KJV):

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”

This scripture is NOT talking about a modern “prophet” for that guy is speechless right now. The scripture states clearly that everything that God has planned for the end times, as well as the deception from the adversary, was told to the prophets of the Bible, and shared with all mankind…Thousands of years ago so that we will know. Are you studying those prophecies, or do you plan to just “wing it.”

I don’t know how I can be more helpful, than to let you know the obvious… The adversary has influenced many Christian churches to deceive you…How so? By not teaching you the events of the 7-year Tribulation Period. WHY? Because the less you know, the easier you will be deceived.

This deception is a VERY BIG DEAL, as it will cost some of you your very soul, and will join the adversary by being cast into the “Lake of Fire” You certainly MUST spend some time understanding the “Mark of the Beast” as foretold in the Bible. If you are deceived into taking this mark, you will be “toast.”

Scripture even tells us about good church going people who rely on a “false prophet” to guide them through the end times:

Matthew 24:24 (KJV):

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

If you think that you are one of the very elect, this scripture was written especially for you. And this as well:

Matthew 7:21–23 (KJV):

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

It is my hope and CONTINUAL prayer that all will study the words that are written in the BIBLE to know what is about to happen. STOP WAITING FOR YOUR CHURCH LEADERS to take the lead on your spirituality…Do it YOURSELF!

The prophets in the Bible have written numerous pages to warn you what is coming. They are TRUE prophets, with specific instructions that God wants you to know. I admonish you to study like your life depends on it, because it just might affect your life after death.
