I realize that many of you who are reading this might be too young to ever see, “The Ten Commandments” Movie. Cecil B. DeMille was both the producer and director of the 1956 The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston as Moses. It is 3 hrs and 40 minutes long, but I must tell you…YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS!
As we prepare to enter the final 7 years on earth, there is so much significance in this movie relating to the end times. It is so very telling just how things will be.
Moses’ God is at war with the false god of the Pharaoh—the king of Egypt that I would take particular interest in. The true God is helping Moses free the Israelites from slavery under this Pharaoh.
God sent Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh, commanding him to let the children of Israel leave Egypt. To demonstrate God’s authority, Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and it became a serpent. Interestingly, Pharaoh’s magicians were able to imitate the miracle through their “enchantments”—their rods also became serpents. But God’s superiority was immediately demonstrated when Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods (Exodus 7:10–12).
The same pattern continued with the early plagues. When God turned the waters of Egypt into blood, Pharaoh’s magicians apparently duplicated something similar through their enchantments (Exodus 7:20–22). When God brought frogs upon Egypt, the magicians again imitated the sign (Exodus 8:6–7). But notice the enormous difference: they could imitate some of the trouble, but they couldn’t deliver Egypt from it.
Then God drew a line they couldn’t cross. When Aaron struck the dust and it became lice, the magicians attempted to reproduce it:
Exodus 8:18–19 — KJV
“And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not…
Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God…”
That’s an important biblical lesson. Satanic or occult power can sometimes produce counterfeit signs, but it is never equal to God’s power. Even Pharaoh’s own magicians eventually recognized that something vastly greater than themselves was at work.
The plagues then continued—flies, disease upon livestock, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and finally the death of Egypt’s firstborn. With each judgment, God demonstrated that Pharaoh, Egypt, and its gods were powerless before Him.
God actually explained part of His purpose:
Exodus 12:12 — KJV
“…and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.”
There is a haunting irony in Pharaoh’s story. Years earlier, Pharaoh had commanded that the sons born to the Hebrews be killed, attempting to destroy God’s people by taking the lives of their children (Exodus 1:22). Yet after repeatedly refusing God’s command to let Israel go, judgment eventually reached Pharaoh’s own house, and his firstborn son died (Exodus 12:29).
In The Ten Commandments, this tragedy is portrayed powerfully as Rameses carrying his lifeless son to the image of his Egyptian god and placing the child in its arms, desperately hoping that the god he had trusted would restore his life.
Nothing happened. The idol could neither hear him nor save his son. The scene beautifully illustrates the biblical truth demonstrated throughout the plagues: Egypt’s gods were powerless before the living God of Israel. As the LORD declared, “against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD” (Exodus 12:12 KJV).
And after Pharaoh finally released the slaves of Israel, he soon changed his mind, and ordered his soldiers to go after them and kill them all. God performed perhaps the greatest miracle of the Exodus: He divided the Red Sea, The Israelites crossed on dry ground, and the pursuing Egyptian army was overwhelmed when the waters returned.
Again, another parallel here. God provided a rescue plan, and escape from certain harm, by parting the Red Sea. An IMPOSSIBLE Feat.
There is also an interesting connection to the last days: the Bible warns that counterfeit supernatural signs will appear again. Revelation 13:13–14 describes miraculous signs being used to deceive people, while Matthew 24:24 warns of false prophets showing “great signs and wonders.”
Many of us know the true period of time that we are currently in…It is a Spiritual battle between Good and Evil. Evil is about to make its last stand, and will be represented by the antichrist taking the world stage as it’s leader, joined by the false prophet.
Scripture warns us that this final battle will involve far more than armies, governments, and nations. It will be a battle for the hearts and souls of mankind—a time of extraordinary deception, when evil will attempt to present itself as good, darkness as light, and rebellion against God as the answer to the world’s problems.
The antichrist will not initially appear to the world as a monster; rather, Scripture describes a ruler who will gain tremendous authority and ultimately demand the allegiance and worship that belong to God alone. The false prophet will help direct the world toward that worship, even using miraculous signs to deceive those who dwell upon the earth (Revelation 13:11–14 KJV).
But we must never forget how this story ends. Evil may be permitted its final hour, but it does not win. Jesus Christ returns as “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:16 KJV), and the Antichrist and False Prophet are defeated (Revelation 19:19–20).
For those who belong to Christ, therefore, the message of prophecy is not ultimately one of fear—it is one of hope. Darkness may gather, deception may increase, and the world may appear to be moving farther from God, but Jesus Christ has the final word. As He told His disciples, “when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:28 KJV)
And, Just as God parted the sea to allow the Israelites to safely flee, God has another rescue plan in place for those who are “in Christ.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV)
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
How will the world respond when they witness all of the children and millions of adults simply vanish as a result of the rapture? I believe this movie is also very telling of the response that should be expected.
The Israelites had just witnessed the hand of God parting the red sea. Moses had taken them all to the other side of the sea, and headed up Mount Sinai to talk with God, and receive the Ten Commandments. We learn that he was with the Lord for Forty Days and forty Nights:
Exodus 34:28 KJV:
“And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.”
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai carrying the two tables of the Ten Commandments, he found something heartbreaking. The very people whom God had just delivered from Egypt had turned to idolatry. Because Moses had been gone so long, the people told Aaron, “Up, make us gods, which shall go before us” (Exodus 32:1 KJV). Aaron collected their golden earrings, fashioned the gold into a molten calf, and the people declared, “These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt” (Exodus 32:4). They offered sacrifices before it, ate and drank, and “rose up to play” (Exodus 32:6).
As Moses approached the camp, he saw the golden calf and the dancing, and his anger became intense. “Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount” (Exodus 32:19 KJV).
Think about the contrast: Moses had been upon the mountain in the presence of God, receiving His commandments, while below the mountain the people were already breaking them. God had specifically commanded, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” and “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image” (Exodus 20:3–4)—yet before Moses could even deliver those stone tablets to the people, Israel had made an idol and was worshipping it. It is one of Scripture’s most striking demonstrations of how quickly people can turn away from God when they become impatient waiting for Him.
A person can see a miracle, and simply forget the significance, and return to their mortal ways quickly.
The rapture will be explained away quickly as something that it was not, avoiding any connection to God, and his love for saving those who belong to Him. And, just like this movie portrays, they will seek the worship of a false god… the antichrist.
As I watched the movie again, it became, once more, a powerful reminder of the fallen condition of mankind—a world filled with people who are lost, yet often have little desire to seek the Light that God has placed before them. God has not left us without direction. His Word continues to speak, His truth remains available to anyone willing to seek it, and His invitation to come unto Him still stands.
Yet so many are simply drifting with the current of the world, consumed with the distractions of everyday life, never stopping long enough to ask the questions that matter most: Who is God? Why am I here? Where am I going when this life is over? The Light is still shining. The truth is still available. The way home has been provided through Jesus Christ. The tragedy is not that God has hidden the way—it is that so many have become too distracted by the world to look for it.
Let me ask all of you some very personal question. What do you know about the end times? Do you realize that God has revealed “His secrets” to His servants the prophets regarding our generation, and the Final Seven Years on Earth? Do you realize that this information has been available for anyone to read for thousands of years?
I admonish the efforts of those who can respond positively to those questions, and to those who cannot, may I respectfully ask, “Why Not?”
Let me LOVINGLY be bold for just a moment. We have not yet started the final seven years on earth, which will indeed be the most DECEPTIVE time ever on this earth. And before we even start, many people are tangled in the nets of deception; ALREADY. I feel that these people’s chances of NOT losing their soul to the antichrist are very slim! If you are deceived right now, just wait until the deception get’s almost impossible to detect.
If your religious leader is not teaching you all of the prophecies that God shared with His TRUE Prophets, LET ME BE CLEAR….YOU ARE BEING DECEIVED!!! How, you ask?
Ezekiel 33:6 KJV
“But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned... his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.”
A true prophet of God would be expected to stand before the people and carefully warn them about the upcoming danger of taking the Mark of the Beast.
A False Prophet would remain silent, letting church members think that everything is ok, and that if something of significance comes up, he will let people know. Do you realize what a false prophet’s agenda is? Let me tell you, since he won’t, I’m sure:
Revelation tells us that the False Prophet “deceiveth them that dwell on the earth” (Revelation 13:14 KJV), causes people to worship the Beast (Revelation 13:12), and ultimately “causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark” without which they cannot buy or sell (Revelation 13:16–17).
God, however, gives an unmistakable warning concerning that mark: “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark… The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God” (Revelation 14:9–10). Think about that contrast: God warns people not to take the mark; the False Prophet deceives people into the system that requires it.
A faithful teacher should therefore be sounding the warning God has already placed in His Word—not leaving people ignorant of one of the most serious warnings found anywhere in Bible prophecy.
Consider the contrast carefully. If a religious leader claims to speak for God while overseeing the accumulation of billions of dollars in wealth and the construction or fortification of a SINGLE magnificent religious building, intended to endure earthly catastrophe, we should be willing to ask whether those priorities agree with the prophetic warnings of Jesus Christ.
Scripture teaches believers to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven” rather than treasures upon earth (Matthew 6:19–20 KJV), and Paul tells believers to look for “that blessed hope” (Titus 2:13).
If we truly believe Christ will gather His people unto Himself in the Rapture that will happen VERY SOON, why would our greatest preparation be protecting earthly wealth and structures from the very judgments God has foretold? More importantly, why would a spiritual leader devote enormous resources to preserving earthly institutions while failing to clearly warn the people about the Antichrist, the False Prophet, the Mark of the Beast, and the coming judgment described in Revelation?
I am not claiming that wealth or fortified buildings alone prove someone is a false prophet—but they certainly give us reason to compare a leader’s priorities and teachings carefully against the Word of God.
The way forward is simple. Stop trusting any man, or woman, as the final authority. TRUST GOD!
You are NOT showing faith by believing and supporting someone blindly. That is called, manipulation! It is not the correct thing to do, in following a “prophet” even when God gives you your own personal revelation which is different. “TRUST US!” Sound fimilure?
GOD DID NOT PROMISE that a prophet would never lead you astray. That promise came from a “prophet” from the same church. Why would you place credibility in a promise such as that? You will not find that promise in any scripture.
If a leader were a true prophet of God, they would be teaching church followers about the beautiful rescue plan of the rapture that God already has in motion. They would not be planning for anything that will occur after this event, because all of the leaders as well as members would have been rescued. I believe that the BILLIONS of DOLLARS that the church has been stockpiling is the Scarlet Letter of identifying what their plan is. They are NOT planning on being raptured. Why?
If a religious leader truly believes the Church is awaiting Christ’s imminent return and deliverance via the rapture, from the coming wrath, why would that leader’s emphasis appear to be preparing an earthly institution to survive that wrath rather than preparing people to meet Jesus Christ? Let’s look again:
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV)
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
Are you “In Christ?” Have you had the spiritual rebirth taught in the New Testament as being Born Again? This is NOT baptism and conformation as a false leader would teach. I think that this might again be something that a person might want to ensure that they have had, for this determines if you are going to be rescued, or if you will stay behind for the 7-year Tribulation Period.
The biblical test should therefore be the leader’s actual teaching, not merely buildings or money: Is he pointing people toward Jesus Christ, teaching them to be born again, warning them about what Scripture says is coming, and encouraging them to watch for the Lord?
To those leaders, I would like to remind you of what God has said regarding Hiding in Fortified Bunkers:
Revelation 6:15–17 KJV:
“And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men… hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
Isaiah contains remarkably similar language:
Isaiah 2:19 KJV:
“And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.”
And Amos makes the larger point that there is ultimately nowhere to hide from God:
Amos 9:2 KJV:
“Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down.”
The profound lesson is: Scripture’s answer to coming judgment is not to build a stronger hiding place—it is to find refuge in Jesus Christ before the judgment arrives.
I invite EVERYONE who reads this to immediately go to God, and ask Him what is true and what is a deception, for we are running out of time.
We speak to God in prayer: He speaks to us through scripture. And which scripture should we be studying? The BIBLE ONLY! I’m certain your church leader has not taught you this scripture teaching:
Galatians 1:8–9 KJV, written by Paul:
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
“As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
This is one of the strongest warnings in the New Testament about changing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul includes himself—“though we”—and even says that if “an angel from heaven” were to present another gospel, believers were not to accept it. The test is therefore not how impressive the messenger appears, what authority he claims, or whether he claims an angelic revelation. The test is whether the message agrees with the Gospel already delivered.
That makes Paul’s warning remarkably simple: the Gospel is not ours to rewrite, restore into something different, add requirements to, or replace with another message. Compare every claimed gospel against the Gospel already given concerning Jesus Christ—His death for our sins, burial and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1–4), and salvation “by grace… through faith… Not of works” (Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV).
Go to the Bible for your answers. Go ELSEWHERE for DECEPTION!
I would ask you not to simply believe me, your pastor, your prophet, your priest, your church, or any other man. Go directly to God and His Word and investigate these things for yourself. Scripture warns us, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8 KJV). No religious title, institution, tradition, wealth, temple, or claimed authority should ever stand between you and the truth God has already given.
Every teacher, every claimed prophet, every church, and every spiritual message must ultimately be tested against the Word of God. “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV). Do not surrender your eternal destiny to another person’s interpretation without opening the Bible and searching for yourself.
Most importantly, go directly to Jesus Christ. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 KJV). Your salvation does not depend upon following a man—It doesn’t depend on which church you belong to – it depends upon knowing and trusting Jesus Christ.
Men can be mistaken. Religious institutions can change. Traditions can deceive. But the truth of God remains. Read His Word. Ask Him for understanding. Seek Him sincerely. And when the teachings of men conflict with the Word of God, choose God—every single time.
