(The views expressed in this article are my personal interpretations of the Bible, particularly concerning biblical prophecy and the end times. They have come to me through endless study of the scriptures, as well as frequent prayerful searching for TRUTH. They are offered for discussion, study, and personal reflection. Most of us a fully aware of many of the tactics the adversary has used throughout our lifetime to “seduce” us into sinning, as well as to walk away from God. But today, I’d like to “investigate” something that satan, and his team, are doing that is incredibly effective into trapping almost EVERYONE who is currently on the earth…that cleaver tool is – DISTRACTION.
Even highly religious people are caught in this net. I pray that they will read this writing with their spiritual eyes, so that they will be able to identify what is happening to them in their own lives.
Let me begin by asking a few simple questions. Your response should be very telling, giving you insight, into whether you are being caught in this net of Distraction. Here they are:
“What event, from God’s plan regarding the end-times, is about to take place?”
Here’s another one:
Can you name any of the Thirty-Nine events that God has planned for the end-times?
And another:
There is something coming, that if you make the wrong choice, you will lose your very soul. What is that?
One last question:
What is God’s purpose for the Seven-Year Tribulation Period?
Ok… How did you do? For those who aced this test, congratulations! I admire your attentive nature to desire, and always want to know, what God have revealed to us through scripture.
Sadly, the majority of the world has no idea regarding God’s plan for the end times whatsoever.
So, why the difference? Everyone has access to God’s end times plan, and has had for thousands of years. It’s right there in the pages of the Bible. So, we can clearly state that it is not because of “availability” that people don’t know. So why then don’t people KNOW for themselves, what is about to happen?
The answer – They have been distracted and kept from the truth, by someone who does not want them to see what the prophets have written. And guess who that “person” is? The Adversary!!!
It’s time to ask a very personal question. Obviously, your answer stays just with you, but I would ask that you be honest with this answer.
If you don’t know all of the details of God’s end times plan “Why is that?”
Here are some of the answers that I have heard:
“I believe that I have a prophet of God leading my church, and if something is important, He will let me know.”
A response that this person might want to consider would be that the adversary is distracting you from even beginning to study what the prophets of God have written so that we would know.
It is clear to me that GOD would not have revealed His end times plan to His prophets, which is recorded in the Bible, unless He wanted YOU to know every detail. If you do not see this in the same light, perhaps something has distracted you, causing you to feel that those writings do not matter, and are not important.
Another answers
“Whose got time to study? If it’s important, it will be on the news.”
“It really doesn’t matter, what’s going to happen will happen anyway, regardless of what I know.”
“I just don’t think we are in the end times yet. My parents’ generation thought the same thing.”
“Learning about the end-times is scary, I’d just rather not know what is coming.”
“I’m just not interested; I’ve got more important things going on in my life right now, like caring for my family.”
All of these answers have one thing in common. Satan has DISTRACTED all of these people, by creating a reason for them NOT to study what God’s prophets have revealed and recorded in the bible.
I come from a church where one of the early leaders lost 116 pages of the manuscript for the Book of Mormon. I have heard MANY members expressed a tremendous desire to want to have the experience of reading those 116 pages. That would be the ULTIMATE for them.
To these same people I ask, have you read something much more valuable, the “End Times Prophecies FROM GOD, which are written in the pages of the Bible?” Do you realize that God has a specific PLAN for the very moment of time that you are living in?
Let’s jump into the scriptures for a moment and investigate to see what they have to say about being distracted from the truth.
Luke 21:34 — KJV
“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.”
That phrase—“cares of this life”—is especially relevant. A person doesn’t necessarily have to be persuaded that prophecy is false. They can simply become too occupied with everything else to pay attention to it.
Paul says Satan also works through spiritual blindness:
2 Corinthians 4:4 — KJV
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ… should shine unto them.”
And Scripture specifically predicts scoffing about Christ’s promised coming:
2 Peter 3:3–4 — KJV
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
That’s remarkably close to the idea that the adversary is distracting people from knowing the truth of God’s plan for the end times. As time continues and Christ has not yet returned, people begin saying, essentially, “Nothing is happening. Everything is continuing just as it always has.”
Paul also warns of deliberate spiritual deception:
1 Timothy 4:1 — KJV
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”
Distracted by something that they feel is “better.”
And Jesus warned that deception would become extraordinarily powerful:
Matthew 24:24 — KJV
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
If a person were to believe that a prophet was actually associated with God, they would only listen to them. And if that “prophet” said nothing about God’s end times plan, they would be distracted for having the desire to even study GOD’S REAL PROPHACIES about the end times.
For those who boldly declare that “My prophet has never led me astray!” I would respectfully respond, why is he not teaching any of God’s end times prophecies that are recorded in the bible? Isn’t NOT TEACHING these prophecies actually leading a person astray?
God told His prophets that the antichrist would come and try to force all people living on the earth to worship him as the TRUE GOD, by taking his mark. He also told us that people who took this mark would be cast into the lake of fire, and would live with satan forever there.
Now, realistically, don’t you think that this is important enough that a leader of a church would be teaching their church members about, WARNING them that they could lose their very soul? Wouldn’t it be prudent for a leader to give their congregation a “heads up” regarding something this important which is coming?
We are about to enter the very final 7 years on earth, and if your leader is not repeating the teachings of the prophets that GOD has chosen to reveal HIS PLAN of the end times, to mankind, you must seek for this understanding yourself, WITH THE HELP OF GOD. Please don’t be distracted, by whatever satan is throwing at you right now.
But He teaches of Christ, He cannot be a false prophet. Are fimilure with this scripture?!?
Matthew 7:21–23 — KJV
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
The words “I never knew you” are especially important. Jesus does not say, “I knew you once, but later rejected you.” He says “I never knew you,” and even states that these people will not even enter the kingdom of Heaven.
And notice what these people are pointing to: their works—they prophesied, cast out devils, and performed “many wonderful works” in His name. Yet Jesus says He never knew them. Their focus is on their works. They preach of us needing to do good works to make it into heaven. Works, Works, Works… another distraction from the truth. Our works have NOTHING to do with us going to heaven. If that is true, then what is required to go to heaven?
John 3:3 — KJV
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
The only requirement for us to reach heaven is to be Born Again. We’ve also learned through the teachings of Jesus Christ that being Born Again IS NOT Baptism, as some churches teach.
Many people have been distracted from this MOST IMPORTANT principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I encourage all of you to learn what Jesus taught, as recorded in the New Testament regarding how a person becomes Born Again, for this one principle is what you have been distracted by the adversary from knowing.
There is only one thing that is important right now, and that is to make certain that you have been born again as taught by Jesus Christ, and recorded in the New Testament.
Let me show you why this is so important right now. If a person is born again, they will be rescued in the upcoming rapture, and more importantly, they will be going to heaven, as Christ taught in these two scriptures:
Rapture
1 Thessalonians 4:16–18 — KJV
16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
To “qualify” to be included in the Rapture, a person must be “in Christ” as it states in this scripture. How does someone become “in Christ”?
Paul gives us an especially important answer:
2 Corinthians 5:17 — KJV
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
That language closely parallels what Jesus called being “born again.” People who are born again will be included in the rapture.
Heaven
John 3:3 — KJV
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
This one scripture, although short is very telling regarding the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let me “paraphrase” it for you to consider:
You cannot go to heaven unless you have been Born Again.
I sincerely desire and pray that all of you will have the interest to learn the truth, even though you will have to learn it on your own, rather than from a church leader. Also, that you will have the humility as you study the gospel of Jesus Christ as recorded in the New Testament. A person is only teachable if they are humble.
In closing, I can describe my very own experience of coming to find the TRUTH, with the following scripture:
John 8:32 — KJV
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
There is NOTHING more freeing than to know that I will be rescued from the Seven-Year Tribulation Period, because of the Rapture, as well as having a firm knowledge that I will be with Jesus Christ in Heaven, for all of eternity!
Knowing the TRUTH has indeed set me FREE. I admonish you to find this freedom for yourself. God’s Speed!
