It has been my experience, and probably yours as well, that some scriptures continue teaching even after your first understanding of what you read. This is certainly the case for what John proclaimed:
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”
— John 10:27 (KJV)
We are living in a time where God is exposing All Truth, just as was written about in the end times prophecies:
Luke 8:17 (KJV)
“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”
God sees everything. Deception, corruption, and hidden motives may remain concealed for a season, but Scripture teaches that they will ultimately be exposed. That exposure is happing right now. God has said that He will expose ALL Truth before He will Judge the earth. He will do this judgment during the Tribulation Period.
Those of you who are studying end times prophecies already know:
The Day of the Lord Brings Judgment
Isaiah 13:9 (KJV)
“Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.”
God’s Wrath Is Poured Out Upon the Earth
Revelation 6:16-17 (KJV)
“And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
Let’s go back now to learn more about God exposing all truth, and how those who know Christ, know His voice.
This deception that He is talking about also includes false religious teachings. If you are a member of a church, and are having doubts about some of the doctrine that your church is teaching, these doubts are the “Voice of the Savior.” He is speaking to you. Are you listening? He is exposing all truths right now to those who know His voice.
As you continue to pray, and ask God for guidance, through this confusion that you are having, remember this “old cliché” … We speak to Go when we pray. He speaks to us through His scriptures.
It’s not about what’s false, it’s about what’s TRUE! There is an URGENT TRUTH that I am certain that He wants you to know…Right Now! That truth has to do with the Atonement of Jesus Christ, as well as the concept taught in the New Testament, of Becoming Born Again. You think that you might already understand them, however, be open to these teachings. Let’s look at both of these.
The Atonement of Jesus Christ
The atonement of Jesus Christ began long before the cross. In the Garden of Gethsemane, the Savior willingly took upon Himself the burden of our sins and sorrows. Though sinless, He experienced such agony that His sweat became “as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground” (Luke 22:44, KJV). Jesus prayed, “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:42).
He willingly submitted Himself to the Father’s plan so that mankind could be redeemed. As Isaiah prophesied, “he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities” (Isaiah 53:5). The suffering of Christ was not for His own sins, but for ours, providing the complete payment that justice required.
The atonement continued as Jesus was betrayed, condemned, and crucified on the cross. There He shed His precious blood and gave His life as the perfect sacrifice for sin. The Bible declares, “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3), and “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). As He hung on the cross, Jesus cried, “It is finished“ (John 19:30), signifying that the work necessary to provide salvation had been accomplished. NOTHING further was needed. Salvation, (living with Jesus Christ forever after death) was Completed, Done, “It is Finished!”
Three days later, He rose triumphantly from the grave, conquering both sin and death forever. “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said” (Matthew 28:6). Through His resurrection, Christ became “the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20), guaranteeing that all who trust in Him will also be raised to everlasting life.
(Please take special note of the following teaching)
The wonderful truth of the gospel is that this salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned through good works. The scriptures plainly teach:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast“ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Romans 6:23 declares,
“the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Because Christ has already paid the full price through His suffering, death, and resurrection, no amount of human effort can add to His finished work. And again, Because Christ has already paid the full price through His suffering, death, and resurrection, no amount of human effort can add to His finished work.
Salvation is received by faith in Jesus Christ alone. As the thief on the cross demonstrated, a person can be saved simply by trusting in the Savior (Luke 23:42-43). Good works are the result of salvation, not the cause of it, for eternal life is freely offered to all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16; Acts 16:31, KJV).
This GIFT is offered to ALL mankind, however, because of free agency, it is not forced upon anyone. We must go through the process of becoming Born Again to have access to His atonement. This is how we receive it.
The Principle of Becoming Born Again
One of the most important teachings of Jesus Christ is that every person must be born again. When Nicodemus, a religious leader, came to Jesus by night, Jesus declared:
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3, KJV)
Nicodemus thought Jesus was speaking of a second physical birth, but Jesus explained that He was speaking of a spiritual birth. Every person is born physically into this world, but because we are sinners, we must receive a new spiritual life from God. Jesus said:
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:6, KJV)
Being born again is not joining a church, becoming religious, being baptized, or trying harder to be good. It is a work of God in the heart when a person places their faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches:
When a person believes the gospel—that Jesus died for their sins, was buried, and rose again—they receive eternal life as a free gift. The Holy Spirit comes to dwell within them, making them a new creation in Christ.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV)
The moment a person trusts Christ alone for salvation, they pass from spiritual death to spiritual life. This is why Jesus said:
“Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” (John 3:7, KJV)
Being born again is not about becoming perfect; it is about receiving a new life through faith in Jesus Christ. Good works follow as the fruit of salvation, but they are not the cause of salvation. The thief on the cross had no opportunity to perform religious works, yet Jesus told him:
“Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43, KJV)
Are Their Steps to Take to Become Born Again?
According to the KJV Bible, being born again is not a process of earning salvation through good works. It is a spiritual rebirth that occurs when a person places their faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus taught:
The Bible presents these things to consider:
1. Recognize That You Are a Sinner
Before a person seeks a Savior, they must understand their need for one.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23 KJV)
2. Believe That Jesus Christ Died for Your Sins and Rose Again
The gospel is that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day.
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day.” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4 KJV)
3. Trust in Jesus Christ Alone for Salvation
Salvation is a gift received by faith, not by works.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works…” (Ephesians 2:8–9 KJV)
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31 KJV)
4. Call Upon the Lord
A person expresses that faith by calling upon Christ and receiving Him.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13 KJV)
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.” (John 1:12 KJV)
5. Receive the New Birth Through the Holy Spirit
At the moment of genuine faith, the Holy Spirit gives spiritual life. This again is not a continual process; it occurs immediately as a spiritual rebirth.
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:6 KJV)
“According to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.” (Titus 3:5 KJV).Top of Form
Have You Been Born Again Without Realizing It?
When many people hear the phrase “born again,” they immediately think of a particular denomination, religious movement, or theological label. Yet Jesus Himself never presented being born again as a religious title to claim. He described it as a spiritual transformation that occurs when a person receives new life from God through faith (John 3:3-7 KJV).
Throughout history, there have likely been countless individuals who experienced this transformation without ever using the specific term “born again” to describe it. Some may have simply known that something changed inside them. Their desires became different. Their love for God grew. They developed compassion for others. Sin that once seemed normal began to trouble their conscience. They found themselves drawn toward truth, forgiveness, humility, and Christ.
Jesus taught that a tree is known by its fruit (Matthew 7:16-20 KJV). The evidence of spiritual rebirth is not found in a title, a church membership, or a religious resume. It is revealed through the fruit that appears in a person’s life. A heart that has been touched by God often displays qualities that cannot easily be explained by human effort alone.
Sometimes you can see this transformation in a person’s countenance. There is a peace that remains even during hardship. There is a gentleness in how they treat others. There is a sincerity, humility, and kindness that seems to flow naturally from within. While no one can perfectly judge another person’s heart, there are times when the light of Christ appears evident in someone’s life
This does not mean born-again believers become perfect. They still struggle, fail, and need God’s grace every day. But there is often a noticeable difference in their spirit. Their focus begins to shift away from self and toward God. The Holy Spirit starts producing fruit such as love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
Perhaps some of the most remarkable born-again believers have never even realized there was a name for what happened to them. Is this YOU? They simply encountered Jesus Christ, trusted Him, and were changed forever. The title is not what matters. The transformation is.
If you are just now making the connection to becoming born again, please realize that this did not come about through your church, it came directly from Jesus Christ.
The adversary’s Greatest Lie
Since satan could not stop the atonement of Jesus Christ from happening, he quickly moved into doing all that he could to take some of the glory away from Jesus Christ regarding the atonement.
Beginning immediately with the “First Church or Religion” their teachings were that the atonement requires all that we can do first. We MUST do good works to earn this salvation. Can you see how this divides the glory that belongs to Christ Himself. It’s not just Christ, but it involves our hard work as well.
Churches continued teaching this “deception” that the adversary had woven into the teachings. “You need the church in the forgiveness process. You must confess your sins to the church, and they have a say in offering you forgiveness. This again is a deceptive lie. We ONLY need Jesus Christ. We confess our sins directly to God, and He is the one that grants forgiveness through Jesus Christ. The church has NO part in any of this.
Salvation does NOT require our good works, yet Good Works are the way to understand if a person has truly been born again or not.
Are you hearing the Voice of your Shepherd here? What is He saying to you?
If you have received this spiritual transformation, I have some incredible news for you.
You will be included in the upcoming recue plan that God has for His followers, the Rapture. You will immediately be taken to the “Judgment Seat of Christ” where you will receive crowns glory for your good works, and will then be with Jesus Christ forever in heaven.
If you have not accepted the atonement of Jesus Christ, you will enter the Tribulation period which is about to begin. God will give you one last chance to come to Christ through the hardships of the tribulation period. If you still refuse, you will join all of those who rejected Jesus Christ in the “Great Thorne Judgment” which will occur at the end of the 1000-year Millenium. And, spoiler alert, all there will be cast into the “Lake of Fire.”
That is a great deal of gospel truth in two paragraphs. If you would like additional scripture teachings about any of this information, please enter the topic that you wish to study in the search bar on our blog at www.gospelofjesuschrist.blog .
PLEASE do not trust me or any other person, or religion, as this is how we are, and have been deceived. Take everything to God in prayer for conformation. It is very likely that He will instruct you to continuing to study for yourself, as this is how we truly learn…Just You, God, and His writings which are in the Bible. This is how I find the truth, certainly no longer through a man-made religion.

I remember my first and only time in the temple going through the endowment ceremony when I sensed a voice, not audible, but a voice in my spirit shouting, “This is not of God!” I didn’t come to the point of trusting Jesus Christ alone as my Savior or being born again for another seven years, but the Lord was faithful to wake me up and help me understand Jesus was enough for salvation and eternal life.

MANY of us had that same feeling. It felt very Pegan to me personally. My first time included the penalties of slashing your own throat, and disemboweling yourself. You bring up a very important point: Listening to your spirit, for it was telling you truth. I appreciate your testimony and comment. Thank you.

My first (and only) time also included the penalties of slashing your own throat, and disemboweling yourself. Several years later, I read a book by a former Mormon who was also a Mason and he explained the connection and similarities of the rituals in the temple and Masonic lodge.
Very thankful for the conviction and warning of the Holy Spirit.
