Why Are So Many Religious Leaders Silent About the End Times? (KJV)

(The views expressed in this article are my personal interpretations of the Bible, particularly concerning biblical prophecy and the end times. They are offered for discussion, study, and personal reflection. I do not claim special revelation, nor do I speak on behalf of any church, denomination, religious organization, or its leaders. Readers are encouraged to study the Scriptures for themselves, seek God’s guidance through prayer, and draw their own conclusions.)

Imagine, for a moment, that you are aware that a person is in your house with a gun, and poor intentions…And you decided not to tell anyone who is entering about this danger, because you do not want to frighten them, or think that this information is not worth sharing. Ridiculous, right? Yet, why are some religious leaders choosing not to talk about the SPIRITUAL DANGERS that lie ahead of us?

We are literally days/weeks/months away from the rapture taking place. A time when God will send Jesus Christ to meet those who are “in Christ” in the clouds, resurrecting the dead and changing those of us you are currently living. Rescued from the 7-year Tribulation Period which will then begin. Saved from the deceptions that will come from the antichrist and his mandate for people to take his mark…the mark of the beast…and lose their souls for eternity.

Why are so many religious leaders saying so little about biblical prophecy when such a large portion of God’s Word in the Bible is dedicated to it? Why would they not teach about the danger that is coming? They might be silent, but God’s prophets in the Bible were certainly not quiet about it at all, and have told us all about it!

The Bible contains hundreds of prophetic passages concerning future events. Depending upon the method of calculation, many scholars estimate that approximately one-fourth to one-third of Scripture contains prophecy. Entire books such as Daniel, Ezekiel, Zechariah, Matthew 24, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, and Revelation focus heavily on God’s plans for the future. Prophecy is not a minor subject hidden away in a few obscure verses. It is woven throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Amos 3:7 declares:

“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” (KJV)

Throughout history, God has consistently warned people before major judgments and significant events. Before the flood, Noah warned his generation. Before the destruction of Sodom, Abraham was informed. Before famine struck Egypt, God revealed His plans through Joseph. Before the Babylonian captivity, God sent prophet after prophet to call His people to repentance.

The pattern is clear. God warns before He judges. He reveals before He acts. He provides opportunity for repentance before consequences arrive. He does this through His prophets, as clearly indicated through the end times prophecies in the Bible.

That is one reason I find biblical prophecy so important. God has already revealed what He intends to do in the future. The warnings are not hidden. They are available to anyone willing to open the Scriptures and study them.

But with this, God has also given us instructions regarding how we can AVOID all of these terrible things:

“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
Revelation 18:4 (KJV)

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
Luke 21:36 (KJV)

1 Thessalonians 5:9 (KJV):

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ:”

A true religious leader would be teaching about God’s rescue plan. Just like when God parted the Red Sea and allowed the fleeing Israelites to escape certain death, God has a rescue plan for those who are “in Christ” to save them from the terrible punishments of the 7-year Tribulation Period.

Here are the prophetic teachings of the Rapture that I would like to share with you, which will occur very soon!

The Rapture is the future event when Jesus Christ will come in the clouds to gather all those who have been born again through faith in Him. The dead in Christ will be resurrected first, and living believers, “in Christ” will be instantly transformed and caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

The Apostle Paul described this glorious promise:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, KJV).

This event is a source of comfort and hope for believers, which is why Paul concluded,

“Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

God is sending Jesus to come and get His followers before the 7-year Tribulation Period even begins, and He wants us to be Comforted because of His rescue plan.

The Rapture is also a demonstration of God’s promise to deliver His children from the coming wrath that will be poured out upon an unbelieving world. Here are more of His teachings:

1 Corinthians 15:51–53 (KJV)

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump… and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

John 14:1–3 (KJV)

“Let not your heart be troubled…

I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

Revelation 3:10 (KJV)

“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world…”

Colossians 3:4 (KJV)

“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”

2 Thessalonians 2:1 (KJV)

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him…”

Luke 17:34–36 (KJV)

“I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

Matthew 24:40–41 (KJV)

“Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

A true religious leader certainly should be teaching what needs to be done so that their members can be included in this rapture rescue. You can see by the scriptures above, that this rapture will not be for everyone. We also learn a great deal from this scripture:

Matthew 7:21–23 (KJV):

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Jesus Himself spent considerable time teaching about future events.

Matthew 24:4-5 states:

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
(KJV)

Notice the first warning Jesus gave concerning the last days was not about war, famine, earthquakes, or political turmoil. His first warning concerned deception.

A few verses later, Christ warned again:

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
(Matthew 24:24 KJV)

These words should cause every believer to pause and reflect. Jesus was not describing deception that would fool only unbelievers. He warned of deception so persuasive that even sincere followers of God could be vulnerable if they were not grounded in truth.

This is why I personally believe that believers should study prophecy carefully ourselves, and not rely on church leaders to teach us the truth.

When Christians understand what Scripture teaches about future events, they become better equipped to recognize teachings, movements, and ideas that conflict with God’s Word. Prophecy is not merely information about tomorrow; it is protection for today.

Scripture repeatedly calls believers to remain watchful.

Luke 21:36 says:

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” (KJV)

The command is simple: watch and pray.

Mark 13:37 records Christ saying:

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” (KJV)

Notice that Jesus did not direct this command only to pastors, scholars, or church leaders. He directed it to all believers.

For this reason, I personally believe every Christian should have at least a basic understanding of biblical end times prophecy. We should know what God says about the coming deception, the rise of the Antichrist, the Tribulation Period, the return of Jesus Christ, and the hope that believers possess through Him.

Now, to be fair, I cannot know the motives of any church leader. There may be many reasons why prophecy receives little attention in some congregations. Some leaders may hold different interpretations. Some may fear unnecessary speculation. Others may simply choose to focus on different aspects of Christian living.

I do not claim to know another person’s heart.

However, I do believe that Scripture calls leaders to teach the whole counsel of God.

The Apostle Paul declared:

“For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”
(Acts 20:27 KJV)

The whole counsel of God includes salvation, grace, repentance, discipleship, holiness, prophecy, and the return of Jesus Christ. When believers are taught only selected portions of Scripture while large prophetic sections are ignored, they may miss important truths God intended them to understand.

Hosea 4:6 contains a sobering warning:

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (KJV)

Knowledge alone does not save anyone. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Yet knowledge of God’s Word helps believers recognize error and remain steadfast in truth.

This is why I encourage people not to rely exclusively upon any pastor, denomination, ministry, or religious organization for their spiritual understanding.

Instead, I encourage you to become personally acquainted with the Scriptures.

Read them yourself.

Pray over them yourself.

Ask God for wisdom yourself.

James 1:5 promises:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” (KJV)

God invites believers to seek His wisdom directly.

Likewise, the Apostle John wrote:

“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you…”
(1 John 2:27 KJV)

This verse does not eliminate the need for teachers. Rather, it reminds believers that the Holy Spirit is ultimately the One who guides us into truth.

Every teaching, every doctrine, every sermon, and every prophetic claim should be examined through the lens of Scripture.

1 John 4:1 commands:

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (KJV)

God never intended believers to follow blindly. He intended us to test, examine, compare, and discern.

As I study the prophetic Scriptures, I become increasingly convinced that the world is moving toward a period of unprecedented spiritual deception. Whether one agrees with my specific prophetic conclusions or not, I believe every Christian should recognize the importance of being grounded in God’s Word rather than merely following popular opinion or institutional tradition.

My confidence is not in any church, denomination, organization, or religious leader.

My confidence is in Jesus Christ.

He is the One who died for sinners.

He is the One who rose again.

He is the One who saves.

He is the One who promised to return.

John 14:3 records His promise:

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (KJV)

That promise is the hope of every born-again believer.

For that reason, I encourage every reader to spend time studying what it means to be born again, what it means to be “in Christ,” and what Scripture teaches concerning the return of Jesus Christ. Examine these matters carefully. Seek God in prayer. Search the Bible diligently. Allow Scripture—not tradition, popularity, or institutional authority—to be the final standard by which all teachings are measured.

If the events described in prophecy are approaching as many Christians believe, then there has never been a more important time to know Jesus Christ personally and to understand what God’s Word teaches concerning the days ahead.

The less dependent we become upon human authority, and the more dependent we become upon God’s Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the better prepared we will be to recognize truth, reject deception, and remain faithful to Christ regardless of what lies ahead.

It does not matter what I believe, nor does it matter what you believe as it relates to the truth. There is only ONE truth, regardless of a person’s belief. The truth stands by itself, and is not influenced by popularity, nor a convincing teacher.

What does matter is the truth taught in the bible regarding the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is what we should seek to understand. This is what will happen to us, regardless of what we believe. I invite you to strongly considering including God in your search for truth.
