(The following writings are my own opinions, and believes, not statements of fact, which I have obtained through tremendous study of end-times prophecy as written in the bible. I have prayerfully included God in my studies to remain on-track for seeking truth. I do not speak as a representative of any religion).
I’d like to share some information today that might assist many “Religious” people in understanding the role of the prophets in the “Last Days.”
There is a church upon the earth today that claims to have a prophet of God leading the church. And what has been very troubling to members of this church is that their current “prophet” is not saying anything about the end times. Why is that?
It is my assumption that members often feel that if end times teachings were important, then the prophet would be talking about them. This might seem like a very logical conclusion.
But, for a moment, let’s look at that scripture again to get some further insight.
Amos 3:7
“Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
This verse is commonly understood to convey a key principle: God does not bring about major judgments or world-altering events without first warning His people through His prophets. Notice that He shares His secrets with the prophets so they can relay them to the people—not to withhold them. God does not reveal His plans to the prophets, only to have them keep these truths hidden.
The Principle of Divine Warning
Throughout Scripture, before God brings major events—especially judgment—He sends prophetic warnings through His prophets.
Examples:
- Book of Genesis – Noah was warned about the flood before it came.
- Book of Genesis – Abraham was told about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
- Book of Jeremiah – Jeremiah warned Israel about the coming Babylonian destruction.
The pattern is consistent: God reveals His plans beforehand so people can repent and prepare.
Application to End-Times Prophecy
In relation to the end times, many believers see Amos 3:7 as explaining why God revealed future “End Times” events through biblical prophets such as:
- Daniel – visions of future kingdoms and the tribulation.
- Ezekiel – prophecies about Israel and the Gog war.
- Zechariah – end-time battles and the Messiah’s return.
- John the Apostle – the visions recorded in Book of Revelation.
These prophecies outline coming events like:
- the rise of the Antichrist
- the Mark of the Beast
- the 7-year tribulation Period
- the New Temple built by the Jewish People Upon the Temple Mount
- global deception (happening now)
- False Prophets deceiving the “very elect” (happing now)
- God’s 7 Bowls of Wrath to be poured out onto all inhabitants of the earth.
- the return of Jesus Christ
So, from this perspective, the end-times warnings have already fulfilled Amos 3:7 because God revealed them long ago through Scripture. We have already been warned of the end times prophecy events that are going to unfold, through the prophets of the bible…NOT a current “prophet”.
Please take a moment here and realize that God has already revealed His secrets to His servants the prophets regarding the end times “secrets,” which are recorded in the bible, as end times prophecies. God is coming to judge the earth and defeat evil, and He has already told His prophets great details about this period of time.
The Purpose of Revealing These Prophecies
The purpose is not simply prediction—it is warning and preparation.
Other verses reinforce this idea:
- Book of Amos 3:8 – “The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?”
- Gospel of Luke 21:36 – believers are told to watch and pray.
- First Thessalonians 5:4 – “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”
The idea is that God’s people should not be completely surprised by the final events, because prophecy has already revealed the outline. Those who are studying end times prophecy know what is coming, and are NOT in the dark. God’s followers will NOT be surprised when they are raptured by “Jesus Christ to meet Him in the clouds.”
But, respectfully, what about those who are waiting for their “prophet” to teach them the details of end times prophecy, already recorded by the prophets in the bible? Will they know what is coming? Will they be “overtaken like a thief in the night? Is their ‘prophet’ preparing them, or is he deceiving them by keeping such information from them?
The church teaches to have “oil in their lamp” so that they are prepared. They are told to be watchful, so that they are not surprised, but what have they been taught to watch for? This is a distinctive sign of deception. They have been taught to watch for the FINAL return of Jesus Christ. This will not happen for 7 plus years, and is one of the very last events of the end times.
But what about the preceding 21 plus revelation teachings that God has already told His prophets about that will happen in the final 7 years on earth? Shouldn’t the current “prophet” be teaching at least the very next end times prophecy to occur, so that members can be ready and watchful?
Let me be the one to share the end times prophecies that God has already told His prophets, so that you can see what you need to know, so that you are not caught as a thief in the night. Here is the order of the end times prophecies as told by the prophets in the bible.

It is time to STOP waiting for this man to prepare you for the end times. With the 7-year Tribulation Period just months from beginning, it is my opinion that his silence is an indicator that he allegedly has a different agenda, or is simply clueless about the teachings of the prophets in the bible about the end times. The SAME teachings that God gave to actual prophets, so that we could all be warned and prepared for what is to come.
A Key Balance in Interpreting Amos 3:7
While Amos 3:7 shows God reveals His plans through prophets, Scripture also warns about false prophets and deception in the last days:
- Gospel of Matthew 24:24 – false christs and false prophets shall arise.
- First John 4:1 – “try the spirits whether they are of God.”
Because of this, many Christians believe the safest prophetic revelation for the end times is what has already been recorded in the Bible, not silence from a man proclaiming to be a “prophet”.
One has to honestly ask the obvious question, If there really was a “true” prophet on the earth today, don’t you think that he would be explaining all of the end times prophecies that God shared with the prophets in the bible? Don’t you think that every time he spoke, he would be helping us understand how those “in Christ” will be included in God’s rescue plan to remove us from the earth prior to His pouring our His wrath?
This man’s silence to me is evidence that he is not in communication with God. He is not teaching ANYTHING about the end times, which is causing church members to be unprepared. Church members have placed a “false trust” that he will tell them what they need to know to prepare and watch for end times prophecies, so that they will not be caught by surprise as to what is occurring.
God has told YOU what you need to know for these end times. He did this through His revelations to His prophets and recorded in the bible. I must boldly state, that if you are waiting for this man to lead you, it is my belief that you have been primmed for deception. The scriptures discuss this.
In Gospel of Matthew 24:24 (KJV) Jesus said:
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
It is again my opinion that this scripture is talking about the very “prophet” we are discussing in this writing. He is a false prophet, and members, are the “VERY Elect” that are being deceived right now. I invite you to go to the source of truth, our Loving Heavenly Father, and ask Him if this is the case. Let God reveal this, and all truths to you, NOT a man, regardless of his mortal title.
Our way forward is quite simple. Enhance your relationship with Jesus Christ, and trust the personal revelations that God will give to you when you ask for Him to reveal all truth to you. And when He does reveal these truths, LISTEN, and ACCEPT them as truth.
Acts 5:29 (KJV)
“Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”
It is again my opinion that this “prophet” is very aware of Gods power in helping a person decern truth. For this reason, church leadership is telling people NOT to rely on their own personal revelation, but must always trust and follow what the “prophet” has to say, or not say. Can’t you see this deception? It is the same church that is stating that the “prophet” will never lead you astray. God did not say this; the church says this.
God says to “Test prophets or leaders to decern if they truly are speaking for God.”
1 John 4:1
This is the most direct command to test prophets recorded in the Bible.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
This verse teaches that believers should not automatically accept anyone claiming to speak for God. Instead, they should test what is being taught. Here’s how we test this:
1 Thessalonians 5:21
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
“Prove” here means test, examine, and verify before accepting something as truth.
Deuteronomy 18:21–22
“And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken?
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken…”
This gives a clear biblical test for prophets:
If what they prophesy does not happen, they are not speaking for God.
Let’s explore this further and apply some “latter day prophets” prophecies regarding the end times:
The Second Coming Within the Lifetime of Early Saints
Early LDS leaders sometimes stated that the Second Coming of Christ would happen within the lifetime of people then living.
Joseph Smith
In 1835 Joseph Smith reportedly said:
“The coming of the Lord… will be within 56 years.”
That would have pointed to roughly 1891.
The Second Coming obviously did not occur then.
Joseph Smith also taught that some people living in the 1830s would live to see Christ return, which also did not happen.
The Temple in Missouri to Be Built in That Generation
Joseph Smith prophesied that a temple would be built in Independence, Missouri within that generation.
Independence, Missouri
In 1832 (Doctrine and Covenants 84), the prophecy said:
“This generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord.”
No LDS temple was built there during the lifetime of that generation, nor has been built today. The land that this temple would be built on is not even owned by the church today. The Church of Christ currently owns the “temple Lot”.
Christ Would Return Soon After the Restoration
Many early LDS leaders strongly implied the Second Coming was very near, often suggesting it would occur in the 19th century.
Examples include statements from:
- Brigham Young
- Wilford Woodruff
- Heber C. Kimball
They frequently taught that the Saints should prepare because the end times were imminent. Nearly two centuries have passed since those statements, and the second coming of the Savior never occurred.
And Finally, President Neilson says this about the end times:
Building Temples as Preparation for the Second Coming
He has strongly emphasized temple building worldwide.
His message is that temples help prepare people for Christ’s return.
He has said the growth of temples is part of God preparing the earth for the Savior’s return.
Let’s test that against scripture to see if it stands the test of truth.
The New Testament actually teaches something very different about temples after Jesus Christ.
Let’s walk through the key scriptures.
God No Longer Dwells in Man-Made Temples
After Christ’s resurrection, the Bible teaches that God does not dwell in temples made with human hands.
Acts 17:24 (KJV)
“God that made the world and all things therein… dwelleth not in temples made with hands.”
This statement by Paul the Apostle directly contradicts the idea that building physical temples prepares the world for Christ’s return.
If God no longer dwells in man-made temples, then multiplying temples cannot be the mechanism that prepares the earth.
Believers Are Now the Temple
The New Testament says the true temple is the believer, not a building.
1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)
“Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you…”
This is one of the most important doctrinal changes after Jesus Christ.
The presence of God moved from buildings to people.
The Early Church Did Not Build Temples
The apostles never taught Christians to build temples.
They met in:
- homes
- public areas
- synagogues
- simple gathering places
There is no command anywhere in the New Testament to construct temples.
The church itself is described as the temple.
Ephesians 2:19–21 (KJV)
“Ye… are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord.”
Notice:
The people form the temple — not buildings.
Jesus Predicted the Destruction of the Temple
When speaking about the last days, Jesus did not talk about building more temples.
Instead, He said the temple would be destroyed.
Matthew 24:2 (KJV)
“There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
This was fulfilled in Siege of Jerusalem.
This moment symbolized the end of the old temple system.
The True Preparation for Christ’s Return
The Bible teaches the world prepares for Christ’s return by:
Preaching the Gospel
Matthew 24:14 (KJV)
“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world… and then shall the end come.”
Repentance
Acts 3:19 (KJV)
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted.”
Faith in Christ
Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works.”
Notice:
The preparation is spiritual, not architectural.
The Only Future Temple in Prophecy
The Bible does mention a temple in the last days — but it is not a positive sign.
It is connected with the Antichrist.
2 Thessalonians 2:3–4 (KJV)
“That man of sin… sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”
This warning was written by Paul the Apostle. This temple will be built by the Jewish people upon the “Temple Mount” in Israel for the purpose of continuing animal sacrifices. The antichrist will enter this temple 3.5 years into the Tribulation period and declare himself to be “god,” and demand worship. This is the only temple that is discussed in the bible regarding the end times.
Conclusion
Using the KJV Bible alone, the doctrine that:
“Building temples prepares the earth for the Savior’s return” does not appear in scripture.
Instead, the Bible teaches:
- God does not dwell in temples made with hands (Acts 17:24)
- Believers themselves are the temple (1 Cor. 3:16)
- The gospel — not buildings — prepares the world for Christ’s return (Matt. 24:14)
The preparation for the return of Jesus Christ is repentance, faith, and the preaching of the gospel, not the construction of religious structures.
But what about the “NEW GOSPEL” revealed by Joseph Smigh that teaches about temples? Can there be NEW DOCTRINE in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let’s return to the scriptures for the answer:
The King James Version (KJV) teaches that no one, not even an angel, has authority to bring a different gospel than what was already given. The clearest scripture is in Epistle to the Galatians.
Galatians 1:8–9 (KJV)
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
What this means
Paul is teaching several very strong principles:
- The gospel was already delivered.
The message of salvation through Jesus Christ had already been preached. - No new or different gospel can replace it.
If someone teaches something different from the original gospel, it is false. - Even supernatural messengers are not exempt.
Paul specifically says “even an angel from heaven.” That means miracles or angelic claims do not validate new doctrine. - The warning is repeated for emphasis.
Paul says it twice, showing how serious it is.
According to the KJV Bible:
- The gospel of Jesus Christ is complete.
- No prophet, teacher, church, or angel can bring a different gospel.
- Believers are commanded to test all teachings against the original gospel.
I invite you again to seek the truth by asking God about all which I have written about you today. Scripture states that all truth will be revealed in the last days, and you are seeing this personally come to be, as God is revealing these truths to you today. Do not let this truth set you back, rather, let it project you forward in knowing that you will no longer be deceived.
Your life in the church was probably a very positive experience and has helped you develop into the person that you are today. For that you can be grateful for the time that you have had by being a part of it.
But the end times are here, and DECEPTION is the theme of this time. It is my opinion that deception once wrapped with some truths, will show its true colors, and lead members into the prophecies that are mentioned in the bible, and eventually into eternal consequences. Perhaps this is why their leaders are not teaching members what these exact prophecies are?
I invite you take things a step at a time. Go to God and ask for His guidance. He will tell you what to do. Follow His directions. Pray for help and comfort in processing truth. Speaking from personal experience, there is an element of anger that comes with the realization that you have been deceived by trusted people. God will help you with this, as you give this anger to Him, and ask that He help you emotionally through this discovery. He was there for me at this time, and He will be there for you as well.
Your main objective here is to NOT be deceived any further…That’s it! Trust your relationship with the Savior, and that God will tell you truth. Then prepare for the rapture which is something that you should be watching for. Let everything else take care of itself…Temples, life after death, etc. will all happen just as God has already planned. The truth about our eternal life already exists, and has noting to do with what a person believes or does not believe. It will happen exactly as God has already planned.
Please feel free to review some of my other writings on this blog www.gospelofjesuschrist.blog that can help you understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ as He taught when He was on the earth. I have been exactly where some of you are right now, and have been led to the truth through a direct relationship with God rather than through a church. There is so much peace here by seeing how the gospel changes a person and gives them peace in knowing that we are saved by grace and not by our own works.
