Part 12 – The Gospel of Jesus Christ as HE Taught When He Was on the Earth – Families Together in Heaven? – ABSOLUTELY, Just Not How You’ve Been Taught

While serving a mission for my church, a strong strategy of the church was to teach families that they can be sealed together, in the Mormon temple, to be in Heaven Together… Forever.

As I was discussing this with a mother of small children, she looked at me puzzled and said, “Oh, I believe that I will be with my family forever in heaven, but you don’t need a special ceremony to have that occur…” And she was absolutely RIGHT!

The Gospel of Jesus Christ as He taught, and is recorded in the bible gives us so much clarification on this matter.

The King James Bible teaches that the hope of believers is resurrection and eternal life with God, where relationships are transformed—not dependent on any earthly ritual or ceremony.

One of the clearest passages is Jesus’ teaching about life after the resurrection:

“For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.”
Matthew 22:30, KJV

This shows that earthly marriage arrangements do not continue in the same form in heaven. Instead, the focus is on a new, glorified state where all redeemed people belong fully to God.

Another key truth is that all who are saved become part of one family in Christ:

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
Romans 8:14, KJV

“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.”

Romans 8:16–17, KJV

So, the “family” in heaven is defined first by relationship to God through Christ. Believers are united as God’s children, sharing in His inheritance.

Jesus also spoke about this unity when He was asked about His true family:

“Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
Matthew 12:50, KJV

That means spiritual relationship with God is what ultimately binds people together.

Finally, Scripture emphasizes that salvation and eternal life are not secured through human works or ordinances, but through God’s grace:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works
, lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8–9, KJV

So, the biblical picture is this: In heaven, believers are united with God and with one another as His redeemed family, not because of any special earthly ceremony, but because of Christ’s finished work and God’s grace.

In the King James Bible, earthly distinctions such as husband, wife, and children are tied to mortal life and its purposes, including procreation, growth, and earthly order, but they are not described as continuing in the same way in eternity. Jesus teaches that in the resurrection, people

“neither marry, nor are given in marriage(Matthew 22:30, KJV),

-indicating that the earthly roles and relationships structured around marriage and family life as we know them are no longer necessary in heaven.

Instead, believers are transformed into glorified beings, fully conformed to Christ, where identity is rooted in being children of God rather than in earthly status or family roles. Scripture also points to a perfected, unified state where there is no aging, decay, or death—

“there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying(Revelation 21:4, KJV)

-which implies a restored, incorruptible condition beyond time-bound stages of life. In that sense, all redeemed people share in the same eternal life in Christ, no longer defined by mortal categories like age, hierarchy, or family roles, but by perfect unity in God’s presence.

Your earthly family, that have accepted Jesus Christ, will be by your side for all of eternity. This is how God designed Heaven, to be surrounded by people that you love. Together, Forever…Together, Forever. Together, Forever…Can you see that this is God’s plan, having nothing to do with a church?

When the church teaches that families can only be together forever if they are sealed through the church temple, it is a false teaching. We’ve learned that temples were no longer needed after Jesus was resurrected. And more importantly we have learned that any gospel teaching that is not in harmony with the teachings of Christ and His apostles while on the earth, is to be discarded.

Epistle to the Galatians 1:8 (KJV):

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”

And the very next verse reinforces it (Galatians 1:9 KJV):

“As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

Initially in my discovery of the true Gospel which Jesus taught, I felt troubled thinking… This means that me and my wife will no longer be married in heaven. Further study actually brought me more relief, far outweighing my initial sadness.

The King James Bible presents eternal life as a transformed existence where earthly marriage and its purposes do not continue in the same way. Scripture also does not describe redeemed people as engaging in ongoing procreation or being responsible for bringing new souls into existence; instead, eternal life is portrayed as complete rest, joy, and unity in God’s presence.

The focus is on believers being:

“like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2, KJV),

Fully conformed to Christ and sharing in His inheritance as God’s children. In that picture, identity is not built on earthly roles like husband, wife, or parent, nor on continuing cycles of mortality, but on being fully redeemed and united in Christ forever—something presented as complete and finished in Him rather than dependent on ongoing earthly-style responsibilities or generational continuation.

YES, my wife will be there With Me so that we can enjoy eternity together!! But, “Thank Heaven,” NOT in a role where we continue to have spirit children…Can you see my relief here?!?!?! I am not losing anything that is important to me by learning the true teaching of Christ, rather, I am gaining a great deal of relief. I’m ready for an eternal life that is, “Happily Ever After.” And one that I get to have this with, that includes ALL of the people that I love. That part does not change.

Pologamy, spirit children???? I’m respectfully asking, “where is the happily ever after in that kind of life…POLOGAMY, seriously??” I think all of us can see how that teaching comes from a male perspective, and NOT from God. Women are EQUAL in the eyes of God.

The Bible consistently teaches that all people are equal before God in value, dignity, and spiritual standing, regardless of gender. Both men and women are created by God and share the same need for salvation and the same access to it through Christ.

Paul writes,

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28, KJV),

-showing that in terms of standing before God, human distinctions do not determine worth or access to His promises.

While the Bible describes different earthly roles within family and society, it does not assign greater spiritual value to one gender over another; rather, both are equally accountable to God and equally loved, redeemed, and invited into eternal life through Jesus Christ.

The truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so simple, and SO VERY COMFORTING. I have come to realize that it was actually my church that was giving me so much anxiety about God’s plan. Never good enough, and always about self-improvement to be able to have a shot at heaven, and if you did it just as they say, you would be rewarded with polygamy and having your own world filled with your children. NO THANKS.

I can’t wait to have a close relationship with Jesus Christ, the perfect and fulfilling relationship that everyone has desired. Fulfilling…Fulfilling…Fulfilling…can you see my point?

I cannot wait to spend time with the people that I love, exploring the new Heaven that God will be creating for us. And certainly, the adventures that this new life will have to offer, even far beyond what adventure that I have found in this life.

And, have you heard about the neighborhood heaven is in? It’s gated! =)

Everyone will be similar in the love that they have for one another. No Karens at the airport set on ruining everyone’s day. No Discontent. A community filled with people who love and care about each other…This is the neighborhood that we can expect to be a part of if you are “in Christ.”

So, the teaching of families only being able to be together in heaven, by first having a special church ordinance, is simply a DECEPTION….A LIE! Why would you ever think that God would keep our family separated for eternity? In heaven, we will be SURROUNDED by the people that we love. That is what heaven was designed by God to be. God’s plan includes ALL who are “in Christ,” not just a certain group of people, nor a special church ritual to make it happen.

There is, quite frankly, NOTHING that is necessary from a religion for our eternal life. Jesus Christ gave us all of the instructions when He was on the earth. He also is the ONLY thing necessary for our salvation and eternal life. This all comes directly from HimNot a CHURCH.

A productive church here on earth would support your relationship with Jesus Christ, not replace it with special ordinances and false gospel teachings. This type of church would teach the exact gospel that He taught when He was on the earth, and give all glory to Jesus Christ. For our salvation was given to all of us as a gift. He alone deserves all of the glory!!!

Stay with me again tomorrow, as we discuss why mortal “titles” are no longer needed in heaven. And, most importantly, learn about our relationship with Jesus Christ. It will be far beyond what you could even imaging. www.gospelofjesuschrist.blog
