The Euphrates River Drying Up: PROOF that we are in the SEASON of the End Times (KJV)

There are still some people who do not actually understand that we are in the SEASON of the End Times. I hear people say…”My parents thought that they were living in the end times, and they were wrong.” I understand that statement, but have you stopped for just a moment to see what is different in our lives vs what was happening in the lives of our parents? Let me shar just one example of why we are in the SEASON, and your parents weren’t.

We have discussed the Euphrates River drying up in previous writings; however, this topic is worth exploring again to give us a sense of just how close we really are to the Rapture, and the Second Coming of Christ.

The Euphrates River is one of the most significant rivers in the Bible. It appears in Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, marking boundaries, empires, and prophetic events. In the Book of Revelation, the drying up of the Euphrates is described as a specific end-times sign that prepares the way for the final global conflict.

Let’s actually take a look at some pictures to see how the river is actually drying up.

The Key Prophecy

The clearest reference comes from Revelation:

“And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.”
(Revelation 16:12, KJV)

This revelation is one of the BOWLS of WRATH that God will pour out onto the earth. It is the SIXTH bowl, and each bowl is sequential; happening in the order that they are written.

To place this event in a visual timeline, here is the sequence of the end times prophecies:

Timeline summary (KJV-based)

• Rapture (before wrath — 1 Thess. 1:10)
• Signing of the Peace Agreement – Israel
• Start of the 7-Year Tribulation Period
• Antichrist revealed
• 7 Seals opened
• 7 Trumpets blown
• Midpoint: Antichrist unmasked as satan
• Great Tribulation begins 3.5 years
• 🔥 7 Bowls of wrath poured out (Revelation 16)
• Battle of Armageddon
• Second Coming of Christ
• Millennial Kingdom

From this legend, you can see that this 6^th “Bowl of Wrath” (the drying of the Euphrates River) occurs just before the second coming of Christ, towards the end of the 7^th year Tribulation period. Why is this substantial? Because it’s happening right now…The river is ALREADY DRYING UP! It is not completely dry, but the process has begun.

Why the Euphrates Matters Biblically

1. A God-Ordained Boundary
   • The Euphrates was established by God as a boundary of promised land and empires.

“Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.”
(Genesis 15:18, KJV)

2. A Historic Barrier
   • For thousands of years, the Euphrates served as a natural military barrier, making large-scale invasions from the east difficult.

3. A Prophetic Trigger
   • In Revelation, its drying removes that barrier, allowing eastern armies—called “the kings of the east”—to move toward Israel.

What Happens After the River Dries Up

Revelation connects the drying of the Euphrates with spiritual deception and global war:

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.”
(Revelation 16:13, KJV)

These spirits:

• Gather the world’s armies
• Lead them to Armageddon

“And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”
(Revelation 16:16, KJV)

The drying of the Euphrates is therefore not an isolated environmental event, but part of a divinely allowed chain of end-times judgments.

“When ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.”
(Luke 21:31, KJV)

We can now know that this river drying up will allow the armies to advance towards Israel for the final “Battle of Armageddon.” God is removing this barrier of the Euphrates River to allow this final battle to happen. It is HIS hand at work, nothing else, and He is doing so to allow His End Times plan to continue, with the intent of defeating EVIL and removing it from the earth.

A prophecy that will not be complete for 6-7 years has already begun…Does this not tell you that we are in the SEASON of Christ’s return?

What This Means for Believers

The Bible never instructs believers to panic. Instead, it calls for spiritual readiness.

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
(Matthew 24:44, KJV)

The drying of the Euphrates is a Tribulation sign, not a signal to fear—but a reminder that God’s Word is precise, intentional, and unfolding exactly as written.

We also know that the Rapture is the nest event which will take place, after which the 7-year Tribulation Period will begin. This to me is another very telling sign of the SEASON that we are in. With EVIDENCE of prophecies specific to that 7-year period already starting to happen, indicates to me that the show is about to begin.

God does not want us to know the exact date nor hour because He wants us to rely on HIM. What is He telling you?
