Prayer…Our communication with God. We are so blessed that we can actually have a way to “Talk to God,” and let Him know the things that we are thankful for as well as to ask for continual guidance, and safety.
In war time, you will note that one of the frequent strategies that leadership applies to be able to win a war is to first take out the radar, and communications of the enemy. In doing so, it makes it creates a challenge for information to flow in an urgent and timely matter, thus giving them an advantage.
Personally, I have noticed some very distinct things happening in my own life related to prayer that I would like to share with you. Perhaps you might also be able to identify similar things that are happening to you.
Currently, I have feet that the heavens are closed, and that God is not hearing or answering my prayers. Previously, I have had immediate thoughts and directions from God, many times occurring at the same time that I am praying…But now??? Nothing. What is happening? Why is this the case?
I have also felt a choke hold in some of my writing not going out to my readers, as I watch the reading from subscribers diminish. I take this challenge to God, but hear nothing back.
Because of this, I start to doubt my abilities or even feel that God is displeased with me.
I feel that maybe I am praying too frequently, and that God must be getting tired from all of my prayers. It has made me back off a bit from the frequency of praying. Then in my studies, I came across this:
Daniel 10:12–13
Daniel was praying and fasting for three full weeks while mourning, seeking understanding from God about future events revealed in prior visions. His prayer focused on gaining insight into Israel’s destiny amid exile, as he was studying Jeremiah’s prophecy of the 70 years of desolation.
An angel explains to Daniel that his words were heard from the first day, but “the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days,” until Michael came to help.
This shows hostile spiritual powers resisting the delivery of an answer, not God failing to hear the prayer.
Daniel 10:20–21 – The same heavenly being speaks again of conflict with the “prince of Persia” and “prince of Grecia,” highlighting ongoing spiritual warfare around God’s purposes.
Are you understanding what is going on right now with US, and our communications with God in these last days?
More than anything else, I can now clearly see the seeds of doubt that satan is planting in my mind, that God has forgotten you, and has no desire to answer.
The very fact that I was led to this scripture is evidence to me that God HEARS and ANSWERS my prayers.
This has led me to approach God with an additional plea….That I might be able to decern the whisperings of the adversary, so that I will not be fooled by his lies. Satan is rampant right now in distorting the reality of believer’s situations. I had a narrative going on in my head that just continued to grow into a point that I was actually upset with God, and that He no longer needed me to minister for Him.
Satan is disparately trying to destroy our communications with God, but why? I can deeply express to all of you that we need God to successfully navigate through the final days that we have left upon the earth. When he takes away pray, or our desire to communicate with God, we are on a path of continued deception.
This Christmas, I had all of my kids together and we were talking about 2 Timothy 3:1-5:
1” This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Our family was in a period of time where they had poor feelings towards one another. This has never been the case, for we have always been such a tight-nit group. But to spend a moment and realize that there is a current force that is trying to divide us was incredibly helpful. There was a reason that small things festered inside until it reached a point of not wanting to be with each other. Just recognizing what was happening, as foretold by the prophets in this scripture, was key into the resolution of the matter.
The battle between good and evil is taking place withing us personally, as well as our families. Can you relate to what I am saying? This battle requires action on our part. To first understand what is happening, and then asking God for assistance in recognizing the influence of evil and combating this force.
For the majority of people on this earth today, satan’s plan is business as usual, with temptation and chasing the pleasures of this world. However, with the Followers of Jesus Christ, evil’s strategy is different. He wants to cut us off from our “Power” supply, our Commander, Leader, and Savior. He is also trying to destroy the good in our lives, like family, and our relationship with God.
I believe that I am a pretty strong person, but I must say, that I can not fight this fight without God’s help. We know the power that He has:
Romans 16:20 states, “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”
Romans 12:21 declares, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.“
1 John 3:8 states, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.“
We KNOW that God will win this battle. But do we realize that He can help us win our PERSONAL battle with the adversary that is happening right now?
I invite you to take a moment, right now, and see those things that team satan is attacking you with in your own life. Can you find examples of what is currently happening in your life that fits into satan’s personal attack?
We are learning that we just can’t sit back and wait for the rapture, for we are right in the middle of a personal war with evil. Let us all put on the FULL armor of God. Prayer, and the Holy Spirit are TWO key elements that we need to fight. I invite you to look into your quiver…are both arrows there?

I have to say this right now. OMG. I went through exactly the same experience last week. I had done something stupid while doing laundry and I thought that maybe I had injured my hand again. I was upset and frustrated and I used a few profanity words that I should not have ( I did not take the name in God in vain ) but just common words. I felt so ashamed of myself for doing that. I apologized to God for that, but I felt as though he kind of withdrew from me. I prayed more earnestly during the day but felt no forgiveness. Later that night during my prayer before sleep, I prayed more sincerely, asking God and our Lord to forgive me. I pleaded with them to please don’t leave me alone because I can’t go on by myself. I then felt the comforting feeling that my prayer had been heard and I was forgiven and was assured that I would not be left alone anymore.
I can also relate to your experience about your dreams. I too have those once in awhile. I am 71 years of age and like you, my desire for sex has also changed ( my wife wonders what has happened to me ). Those dreams just happen. I prayed deeply to have those stopped, but they come through once in awhile. What has helped me is whenever those thoughts and desires come into my head, I know of a certainty where they are coming from. I immediately invoke the power of saying mentally and verbally ” In the name of Jesus Christ, I cast out all immoral thoughts, actions and entities from my presence immediately “. After that, things are better. It took awhile of repeated invoking that command over a period of time for Satan to get the hint that I am not interested in his thoughts and to go elsewhere.
It really is a battle out there for your soul. I thank our Father and his son Jesus Christ all the time for watching out for me and protecting me, but I have also learned, I have to do my part to protect myself also. That’s why we need to put on the full armor of God, not just certain pieces that we think we need. It is my prayer for all of you to be protected also. Stay strong everyone. Pray often. I will keep all of you in my prayers also.

This morning I was praying for your children that they might be led to Christ. This lead me to some very strong promptings to write an article to post for tomorrow. Read it and see if you’d like to share it with them. It is a new approach in having current members of the lds faith to consider the importance of being Born Again.
