Rapture Dates Come and Go – However, there is a Positive Finding to This

Posted November 10, 2025 | End Times Watch | River Wilde

I would say that the past 2 or 3 months have been rampant with people teaching specific dates that the Rapture will take place. The Feast of Trumpets; The date that Noah boarded the ark, as well as so many other random dates have been posted all over social media. And, how many were correct? NONE!

Has this been a waste of time? Has it given many believers a false understanding of the rapture? Are people done believing in such a concept? I would answer No…Yes and Yes.

So how could there possible be anything positive with all of these different predictions, and why hasn’t this been merely a waste of time?

To me, my conclusion with all of this is that many different people are reading the scriptures, and studying the end times. This is a strong POSITIVE.

Additionally, with so many different dates, it spiritually suggests to me that many of these people have come to realize that we are in the “Season” of the rapture. I say AMEN to this.

Here’s some additional insight to explain this behavior. Many of you…including myself, have gone on a Mission to find out all of the information possible in the scriptures about the rapture. We find evidence when we consider: The 70 weeks of Daniel, the 7,000-year period of life on earth, and the last 3,000 years which began with Christ’s death. We use these facts to draw conclusions… and that’s how many different dates pop up.

We want so bad to Crack the Code, and share our finding with others to assist them in their preparation. This is ALL COMMENDABLE, and I personally appreciate your time and dedication spent towards solving this mystery. But I must humbly share something that I have learned through this process of wanting to find such a date.

Let’s look at what Jesus Himself said:

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
Matthew 24:36 (KJV)

And again:

“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
Matthew 25:13 (KJV)

I am very fimilure with these scriptures, but as I have pointed out before, they say Day and Hour that nobody knows, which is just a 24-hour period. It doesn’t say anything beyond this. This kept me searching for the year or even the month, until I came across this:

There are several other reasons that God prefers that we not know the exact day of the rapture.

  1. To Keep Believers Spiritually Watchful and Ready
If we knew the exact date, human nature might tempt us to delay repentance or spiritual commitment until the last moment. But by keeping the time secret, Jesus ensures His followers live every day as though He might return today.

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
Matthew 24:44 (KJV)

  1. To Test the Sincerity of Our Faith
True faith is shown not by those who serve because they know when Christ is coming, but by those who serve because they love Him and trust His promise.

“Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.”
Matthew 24:46 (KJV)

  1. To Protect Against Deception
If a specific date were known, false prophets and deceivers could use it to mislead many. Jesus warned:

“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
Matthew 24:5 (KJV)

  1. Because God’s Timing Is Sovereign and Perfect
God’s plan unfolds according to His divine will, not human speculation. The Father has set the times and by His own authority:

God doesn’t tell us the date of the rapture because He desires faithful hearts, not fearful ones — people who walk daily in readiness, hope, and obedience, rather than waiting for a countdown. The unknown date is actually an act of mercy and love, keeping us spiritually awake and focused on our relationship with Him.

But we can know the season

1 Thessalonians 5:1–6 (KJV)
“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
… But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”

Paul is saying believers won’t be surprised like the world will be — because we’re watching and discerning the season. God reveals the general time period through signs and world conditions.

Jesus also expected us to discern the signs

Matthew 24:32–33 (KJV)
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Just as you can sense a season approaching by nature’s signs, Jesus said we can know when His coming is “near.”

In short:

God doesn’t want us to know the exact date (to prevent complacency or panic),
but He does want us to be spiritually awake, discerning the season, and recognizing that His return is drawing close.

Now because of all of these rapture prediction dates, this is not a “sign of the times” in itself. However, it demonstrates to me that people through their faith, study and prayer have determined that we are in the Season of the Rapture. In their haste, they try to assign a date to their findings, even though they should stop after learning the season.

Conclusion

When you see a rapture date forecasted, just smile, for it is VERY likely that the Rapture will not happen on that date. Understand that it is probably due to someone’s dedicated research that they are trying to forecast a date. It is innocent in most cases. Their intent is to help others.

THEN, realize that we are in the season. If you do not feel this way right now, please do your own prayerful research and study. See that you have been Born Again as detailed in the Bible. Repent of your wrongdoings. Do this every day, or every Sunday. Get into a habit of repenting, for we have unfortunately got ourselves in a habit of sinning. =)

When you are prepared in doing this, look forward to the rapture. Be watchful, which does NOT mean to look up into the sky 24/7. God will find you…If you are prepared, you will not miss this bus, I promise.

Thank you for your prayers! I have been comforted and streghtened knowing that we all care for one another. Our “Heavenly Hood” is only 350 strong, yet I feel honored that each of you spend some time studying with me, and praying for this group. There is power in unity.

Thank you for all of your comments. I appreciate you teaching the group as well. Don’t hesiate to share any gospel truths that you would like with each other through your comments here. Being Christlike suggests that we are all teachable. We ALL understand that their are “opinions” and then there are “Gospel Principles.” Most of the time with a group such as ours, they are the same. However, if you read a comment that is likely someones opinion rather than Gospel Principle, let’s be kind to one another. We are not trying to PROVE anything here; rather learn the TRUTH. Differring opinions can be quite helpful, as it creates a desire for us to study further to fine tune the truth that we have had comformed by our God.

I hope your day is filled with joy. You belong to a group that is patiently waiting to UNITE with Jesus, and participate in the greatest wedding feast ever. I’ll save you a seat…I’d like to personally meet all of you. God’s Speed.

    1. You will not find the word Rapture in the Bible. However, Here’s the beginning to understanding the concept of the rapture: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV), which describes the rapture — the moment when believers are taken up to meet Jesus Christ at His return.
      Here’s the verse:

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

      Let’s break it down briefly:

“Caught up” — The Greek word here is harpazō, meaning “to snatch away” or “to seize suddenly.” This is where the concept of the rapture comes from (from the Latin rapturo).

“In the clouds” — Symbolizes the heavenly realm, often associated with God’s presence (see Acts 1:9–11, where Jesus ascends into the clouds).

“To meet the Lord in the air” — Suggests a supernatural gathering where believers—both resurrected and living—will meet Christ before He returns to establish His Kingdom.

“And so shall we ever be with the Lord.” — A promise of eternal union with Christ — never separated from Him again.
