The Gospel of Jesus Christ as HE Taught When He Was on the Earth – Part 1 – The Atonement

The end-times Prophecies in the Bible teach that all truth will be revealed in the last days:

Hidden things will be revealed

Luke 12:2–3 (KJV) “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.”

Knowledge increases in the last days

Daniel 12:4 (KJV) “Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

The Spirit leads into “all truth”

John 16:13 (KJV) “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…”

Because of this, many people are beginning to realize that some of the gospel topics that they have been taught through their church aren’t exactly 100% correct.

It’s quite evident that there must be some untruths out there, because all Christian churches do not teach the same principles. So, who is right, and who is wrong? I believe a better way to ask that question is, “What is the Gospel that Jesus Christ taught while He was on the Earth?”

Think for a moment…Jesus Christ was actually on the earth, and, one of the reasons that He was sent to earth was to teach His gospel. Many people do not give that thought the credibility that it deserves. They place all of their trust in a church that teaches them about Christ, rather than actually learning themselves what is written in the Bible from the words of the Savior and His prophets. “Oh, surely, they must be the same thing?” Well, that what I thought until I began to study the Bible in great detail over the past 3 years.

So, in this series of writings, I would like to share with you the Teachings of the Savior, just as He taught, and are recorded in the KJV Bible.

Before I begin, I must share a very important point with all of you, and that is; satan does not like Jesus Christ, and has done everything in his power to discredit the Savior, and try to take His glory away from Him. This is so profoundly evident to me as I study the teachings of the savior, and how satan has snuck into religions to change these teachings and remove some of the glory that belongs to the Savior.

Satan’s GREATEST Lie

Immediately after all of the apostles died, through satan’s influence, he distorted the true teachings of Jesus in one of the first church systems. This same deceitful lie has been disguised into other Christian churches as well, and even my own religion that I belonged to for years. That lie…..The Atonement of Jesus Christ requiring our Good Works, and Church Rituals. Let me explain this very clearly.

The Atonement as Jesus Taught

The atonement of Jesus Christ is the central message of the Christian faith: that Jesus willingly suffered, died, and rose again to reconcile humanity to God. According to the teachings of the Bible (King James Version), mankind is separated from God by sin, and no amount of human effort can bridge that gap. The atonement is presented not as something earned, but as something given—freely offered by God out of love and grace.

One of the clearest teachings in the King James Bible is that salvation is a gift, not a wage, nor a result of our good works. Ephesians 2:8–9 says,

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

This means that salvation is not something a person can achieve through moral behavior, good deeds, or religious performance. Instead, it is received by faith—trusting completely in what Jesus Christ has already accomplished through His death and resurrection.

And to continue with additional scripture support of this:

Romans 11:6

“And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace…”

Grace and works are mutually exclusive as a basis for salvation.

Titus 3:5

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…”

Salvation is based on God’s mercy, not human righteousness.

Romans 3:20

“Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight…”

Romans 3:28

“Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Galatians 2:16

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ…”

Galatians 3:11

“The just shall live by faith… no man is justified by the law in the sight of God.”

2 Timothy 1:9

“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works…”

Acts of the Apostles 15:11

“But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved…”

Romans 4:4–5

“Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
But to him that worketh not, but believeth… his faith is counted for righteousness.”

The atonement is described as complete and sufficient. When Jesus said on the cross, It is finished”(John 19:30), we understand this to mean that the payment for sin was fully accomplished at that moment. Nothing needs to be added to it. The idea is that Christ’s sacrifice is perfect and final, not something that must be supplemented by human rituals, ceremonies, or personal merit. Hebrews 10:10 reinforces this by saying believers are sanctified “through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

Because the atonement is complete, good works are not the means of salvation—they are the result of it. In other words, Christians are not saved by good works, but from being saved, they desire to do good works. A transformed life of kindness, obedience, and love is seen as the natural fruit of faith, not the payment for it. This distinction is important: good works do not earn salvation, but they often follow genuine belief as evidence of a changed heart.

Likewise, many Christian interpretations of the KJV emphasize that no church system, temple ritual, or religious ordinance can replace or add to Christ’s finished work. While many believers find value in fellowship, worship, and ordinances as expressions of faith, these are understood as responses to salvation—not requirements to obtain it. The core message remains that Jesus Christ alone is the mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and His atonement is sufficient for all who believe.

Can you see satan’s deception here? He wants us to believe that Christ’s sacrifice was NOT sufficient by itself. He has deceived churches into preaching that “We must do all that we can first, and then the atonement of Jesus Christ is effective.” Or that we must “Earn our way into heaven through doing good works, attending church, paying tithing, as well as all other good works.” This is simply UNTRUE. Yes, good works will be rewarded, but they have NOTHING to do with salvation NOR if we get to heaven or not.

Satan has also taught some to believe that a religion ceremony is essential for our salvation. We MUST have this in addition to the atonement, which is just another deception to discredit our Savior. This is not the case, for what Jesus did for us is complete and all that is required.

There are several equally important aspects of the atonement.

In the first event, in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus Christ suffered beyond human comprehension as He submitted His will to the Father. In this moment of deep agony, He bore the sins, pains, and sorrows of all mankind, sweating “as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground” (Luke 22:44, KJV). This was not a symbolic suffering, but a real and infinite taking upon Himself the burden of humanity’s fallen condition. It is here that the atoning suffering begins, where Christ willingly accepts the full weight of sin so that mankind could be offered mercy and redemption freely by grace.

In the second event, on the Crucifixion of Jesus, Jesus physically carried the sins of the world to the cross and gave His life as the final sacrifice. As He was nailed to the tree, He declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30, KJV), signifying that the debt of sin was fully paid. His blood was shed once for all, fulfilling the Old Testament sacrifices and making any further offering for sin unnecessary. This moment demonstrates that salvation is not earned by works, rituals, or religious systems, but by the finished and complete offering of Christ Himself.

In the third event, the Resurrection of Jesus, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, conquering death, hell, and the grave. The resurrection is the divine confirmation that His sacrifice was accepted by God the Father and that sin and death no longer have ultimate power over humanity. Through His resurrection, Christ offers eternal life to all who believe, proving that salvation is not only forgiveness of sins but also the promise of new life. As Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15 (KJV), “…if Christ be not raised, faith would be in vain—but because He lives, redemption is complete and hope is alive forever.”

This is the atonement that Jesus Christ taught. Is it different that what your church has taught you? If it is, please take this information to God in personal prayer, and ask Him to help you in seeing the truth of the atonement. For it is through HIM that you will know all truth…Not your church, and not through me or anyone else, but through Him!!!

Now did you know that Jesus atoned for all mankind, but that not everyone will receive this gift?
