Applying the Rapture to the Jewish Calendar Holidays – A Thoughtful Piece of History to Consider (KJV)

March 23, 2026 | www.gospelofjesuschrist.blog | River Wilde

I have not been one to set specific end times dates. I have felt in the past that God wants us to know the seasons of when end times events will occur, but not so much specific dates. But in my studies this week, I have come across some information that has caused me to reconsider my thinking, specific to the Rapture.

I present to you this information, not as facts, or truths, but as something that I think that we should all consider in understanding the end times events.

Many spiritual events in life have happened on specific holidays listed on the Hebrew Calendar. The Hebrew calendar (also called the Jewish calendar) is a lunisolar calendar, which means it tracks both the moon cycles and the solar year. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, which is purely solar, the Jewish calendar is designed to ensure that Jewish holidays always fall in the correct season.

Let me show you what has already occurred regarding Jesus Christ, as it relates to this Hebrew Calendar:

How These Connect to the Spring Feasts

FeastSpring/FallFulfilled?EventScripture
PassoverSpring✅ YesCrucifixion1 Cor 5:7
Unleavened BreadSpring✅ YesBurialLuke 23:53
FirstfruitsSpring✅ YesResurrection1 Cor 15:20
PentecostSpring✅ YesHoly SpiritActs 2:1

These four “Holidays” occur in the spring time. They all have to do with Jesus Christ fulfilling events tied to the First Coming of Jesus Christ. But, let me show you something very interesting. There are Three Holidays that are in the fall, that I believe have to do with the second coming of Jesus Christ. Let’s look:

Feast of Trumpets     Begins Sunset Sept 11, 2026 Not Yet Rapture1 Thess 4:16
Feast of Atonement     Begins Sunset Sept 20, 2026 Not Yet Start of TribulationMatt 24:21
Feast of Tabernacles     Begins Sunset Sept 25, 2026 Not Yet 2nd Coming of ChristZech 14:9

There is a DIRECT correlation with the feast of the Trumpets and the feast of the Atonement if we plug in these two facts. If the feast of the trumpets represented that Rapture, and the Feast of the Atonement represented the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation period, the timing flow is precise. Let’s look:

The Feast of Trumpets, called Rosh Hashanah in the Jewish calendar, prophetically aligns with the rapture of the Church. Biblically, trumpets signal God’s call, warning, and gathering of His people (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Matthew 24:31). Just as Israel was called to assemble at the sound of trumpets, the Church—the Bride of Christ—is suddenly caught up to meet the Lord in the air. This feast marks a time of sudden awakening, reflection, and preparation, perfectly symbolizing the imminent and unexpected nature of the rapture, where believers are removed from the earth before God’s judgment begins. The trumpet imagery represents God’s voice calling His faithful to Himself, sparing them from the tribulation’s wrath.

Following this, the Feast of Atonement (Yom Kippur) foreshadows the start of the seven-year tribulation period, beginning with God’s judgment on the world and Israel’s testing. Yom Kippur is the day of national cleansing and reconciliation in Israel, symbolizing God’s righteous judgment and the need for atonement. After the Church is raptured, the world experiences the full weight of divine wrath as the antichrist rises and the seals of tribulation are unleashed (Revelation 6).

The sequence of these feasts’ mirrors Scripture’s end-time timeline: the trumpet calls the faithful away, then the atonement signals the world’s reckoning, separating the saved from those who face God’s judgment, just as Yom Kippur cleanses Israel from sin while leaving the unrepentant exposed.

If the feast of Trumpets represents the Rapture, this would occur at the following times:

Begins: at sundown on Friday, September 11, 2026
Ends: at nightfall on Sunday, September 13, 2026

Which again fits with the Feast of the Atonement, or the start of the 7-year Tribulation period beginning one week later:

Sunset Sept 20, 2026

Could determining the date of the Rapture really be this simple to figure out? I will let you consider these facts and reach your very own conclusion.

I have to tell you that Spiritually, I feel that the rapture is very near, and could happen at any time now. However, it is obvious to me that it will occur sometime in 2026 for certain, and perhaps even begin on the feast of Trumpets.

I invite you to consider what I have written today for the simple fact NOT to focus on a specific date, but to realize that the rapture is indeed close to happening. Are you prepared to be taken up into the clouds to meet the Savior? If you are uncertain of that answer, take a moment and study how a person can become born again as written in the Bible. Give your life to Jesus Christ, accept His atonement, and repent of your sins, so that you can be included in this glorious rescue plan that God has for “His Church.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16–18

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
