By simply opening this article, it reveals some things about you which helps me assume what you are praying for:
You are spiritual. If you did not have a connection with “God”, you wouldn’t be praying.
The title of this article lists (KJV), which tells me that you are likely a Christian, and believe in Jesus Christ.
And, most importantly, you are in a situation of “stress” because you are seeking an answer to your prayer, and are searching. We usually don’t end up searching for answers unless the situation that we are dealing with is difficult.
Let’s continue with this discovery about yourself…
High stress situations usually are a result of a person’s failing health, safety, loss of a job, or the uncertainty of the world…Let’s call that the “unknown.”
To sum everything up that I know about you…the Reader, I can understand what you are praying about, and provide you with the answer…
So here it is… The answer to your prayers that you have been seeking:
“It is time to “Firm-Up”, or (begin) a relationship with Jesus Christ.”
How is this the answer to my problem? I can certainly explain that.
I am in the sunset years of my life. I have had countless experiences that have been Quite stressful:
My son killed in an accident
My Mom’s suicide
Lost in the snowy mountains of Utah on a hunting trip, near death from exposure, then rescued.
Health Issues
And they all have one thing in common… It was because of my relationship with Jesus Christ that I was able to navigate through the challenge. He provided COMFORT, DIRECTION, UNDERSTANDING, GROWTH, ANSWERS, AND EVERYTHING NECESSARY.
Notice, there are two big ones listed above that He did not remove from my life. I wasn’t able to “Pray” the problem away…The problem was that these two people were already gone, and in such dramatic fashion. He answered my prayer by “shouldering me” through the challenge, not eliminating it.
Let me share the scripture that explains this. It was the focus of direction that I needed when my son was killed.
Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV):
“28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
When a farmer plowed the field, he would YOKE two oxen together to pull the plow.

Picture a single ox trying to pull a heavy plow through hard soil—he can do it, but it’s slow, uneven, and exhausting. Now picture two oxen yoked together, side by side, joined by a wooden beam across their necks. That yoke changed everything.
When cattle were yoked together, their strength was combined, allowing them to pull heavier plows and cut deeper, straighter furrows. The load was shared, so neither animal bore the full strain. This reduced fatigue, prevented injury, and let them work longer and more steadily. Just as important, the yoke kept them aligned, so they moved in rhythm, pulling in the same direction instead of fighting each other’s pace or angle. The result was smoother plowing, fewer stops, and far more ground covered in a day.
A stronger ox can also compensate for the weaker one. It is not always a 50 – 50 percent that each ox gives throughout the day. The load can vary based upon many different factors they experience.
And so it is when we are yoked up to the Savior. When my son died, I had maybe 5% to contribute, but a loving Savior pulled at 95%. I was flooded with COMFORT in the early part of my grief. He also provided information through my studies regarding how to grieve. It was because of Him that I found the “tools” necessary to process my grief.”
It was my Savior that helped me see that with His help, I was stronger than I would have ever imagined that “we” could be.
So, whatever problem you are facing, it is time right now to YOLK up to the Savior. How do we do this?
To “yoke up” with the Savior is to accept His invitation to walk life with Him instead of carrying everything alone. Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me… For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” A yoke joins two together so the stronger carries the greater weight. When a person yokes themselves to Christ, they are choosing trust over self-reliance—letting Him lead, set the pace, and bear what would otherwise crush them.
Yoking up begins with humility and surrender. It’s the quiet but honest prayer that says, “Lord, I can’t do this on my own anymore.”It means laying down pride, fear, guilt, and the constant need to control outcomes. Instead of asking Jesus to bless our plans, we begin asking Him what His will is—and then aligning our lives to it. Repentance, faith, and obedience aren’t heavy chains; they’re the way we step into the yoke beside Him.
Living yoked to the Savior is daily and practical. It looks like returning to Him in Scripture, listening for His voice, and choosing His ways even when they run against the world’s logic. It means resting in grace when we fail, knowing He is patient and gentle, not harsh or demanding. Over time, the soul learns that peace doesn’t come from fewer problems—but from walking closely with Christ through them.
Ultimately, to yoke up with Jesus is to find rest for your soul. Not escape. Not ease. But rest—the deep assurance that you are loved, forgiven, guided, and never alone. When you walk with Him, the load is shared, the path is clearer, and even in suffering, there is hope that holds firm.
This is the answer that you have been seeking, for it is the answer to ALL problems in our life. Yolk…then TRUST in Him! Let Him guide you through the experience.
