How the World Feels About the End Times: Which of the Four Groups Best Describes YOU?

The Bible warns that in the last days; the world will be filled with both confusion and revelation. But how does humanity actually feel about the approaching end times? While much of the world remains unaware or indifferent, Scripture and observation reveal that people generally fall into four distinct groups.

1. The Distracted Majority

This is by far the largest group. Most people are consumed by everyday life—working, raising families, pursuing entertainment—and rarely give much thought to prophecy or the end times.

Jesus described this group centuries ago in the days of Noah:

“They did eat, they drank, they married wives… until the day that Noah entered into the ark.” — Luke 17:27 (KJV)

These individuals aren’t hostile to faith or prophecy—they simply prioritize survival and comfort. To them, the end times remain a vague idea, not a pressing reality.

2. The Anxious but Undefined

This group senses something is wrong, even if they don’t understand it biblically. They notice global instability, climate threats, technological disruption, or economic uncertainty and feel a vague dread about the future.

Biblical insight echoes this:

“Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.” — Luke 21:26 (KJV)

Although they care, their awareness is often dominated by fear rather than hope. Without understanding God’s plan, anxiety can overwhelm them.

3. The Mockers and Dismissers

Smaller in number but often loud and influential, this group openly ridicules prophecy and faith. Scripture calls them scoffers:

“There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts.” — 2 Peter 3:3 (KJV)

Their voice dominates cultural conversation, but their influence is mostly superficial. Though vocal, they do not represent the majority of humanity, and their mockery often signals how close the end truly is.

4. The Watchful Remnant

This is the smallest group, yet it carries the greatest spiritual significance. These are individuals who:

  • Read Scripture seriously
  • Sense the nearness of Christ’s return
  • Prepare quietly, without panic
  • Live faithfully and in hope

Jesus described this faithful remnant:

“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” — Luke 12:32 (KJV)

They are steady, discerning, and prepared, even as the world around them drifts toward distraction or deception.

What This Means Today

While the majority of humanity is indifferent or unaware, subtle signs of unease appear everywhere: declining morality, societal instability, and cultural unrest all reflect the tension Scripture predicted.

God allows these conditions so that hearts are revealed—faith cannot be coerced, and true devotion must be chosen.

As believers, our calling is clear:

  • Stay faithful and watchful
  • Offer hope quietly, not fear
  • Speak truth wisely and lovingly

Our peace should not depend on changing the world but on trusting God. Even if most people do not care, the faithful remnant fulfills its purpose.

“When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” — Luke 18:8 (KJV)

So, where in the four different groups listed above would you place yourself in? I think that it might be important to take a moment and realize where your mindset is relating to the End Times…For we are just about of time until the big show.
