Fear and Anxiety Have Been Removed from My Life Because of One Person (KJV)

I have spent my entire professional career in healthcare. During this time, I have studied and been taught a great deal about ANXIETY. Because of my genetic makeup, anxiety has been a challenge for me since childhood.

With the tools that I have learned, as well as some medication, my life became very manageable. I became a life coach, teaching what I had learned about anxiety to others who face the challenge of this medical condition.

My life became somewhat normal for years, but anxiety was still in my back pocket. One of the symptoms of anxiety is the constant fear and WORRY. I could never say that I had a day without fear and worryEVER…Until just last week.

If you follow this blog, you’ve read the article that I wrote about letting God drive your car. In my study and preparation for creating that writing, I noticed that I had never let go completely, in trusting God to “Drive my Car.” To turn my entire life over to Him…COMPLETELY!

This was a difficult thing for me to do. I have always been self-directed, and have done most everything in my life as “The Boss.” Letting God have COMPLETE control would not be easy, for I’ve always wanted to keep my hands in things.

But I decided to do just that…to Let HIM drive my car, and not tell him “Anything” from the passenger seat regarding His driving…To say, “Thy Will be Done” and have complete trust and confidence that He would get me through all traffic, any crashes, or even cover the “speeding tickets” along the way.

For the past several days after doing this, I have had NO FEAR, and NO ANXIETY about anything. Yes, problems still happened, but the response was to TRUST GOD, and follow His Guidance, rather than “own the problem” and try to resolve it on my own. I’m AMAZED with the outcome!!!

I have always been a religious person. However, this process does not include “religion.” It is done directly between yourself and God. You are trusting God, not a religion, to navigate through the challenges of life. A very PERSONAL relationship, between the two of you.

So how does a person do this according to the writings in the New Testament? Let’s go there now…

The phrase “Let God drive your car” does not appear in the King James Version of the Bible, yet the principle it conveys is clearly and consistently taught throughout Scripture. The Bible calls believers to surrender control, trust the Lord’s direction, and live free from fear by resting in His authority. Fear arises when a person assumes responsibility for outcomes God never intended them to carry; peace follows when that responsibility is yielded to Him.

Scripture teaches that trust in God is a deliberate act of the heart.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”

Proverbs 3:5–6, KJV.

This passage establishes God as the one who directs the believer’s course. To lean on one’s own understanding is to grip control; to acknowledge God in all ways is to submit direction to Him. When the believer yields guidance to the Lord, God assumes responsibility for the path ahead.

The Bible is clear that fear does not originate from God.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”

2 Timothy 1:7, KJV.

Fear enters when trust is displaced. When individuals believe they must anticipate every danger, secure every outcome, and prevent every failure, fear becomes inevitable. Trust in God restores order by placing authority where it belongs—with Him.

Jesus taught that peace is not circumstantial but spiritual.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”

John 14:27, KJV.

This peace is not dependent on the absence of difficulty but on the presence of Christ’s rule. When God leads, the believer no longer needs to fear unknown turns or uncertain timing.

Scripture teaches that fear is removed through perfected trust in God’s love.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear”

1 John 4:18, KJV.

When a believer fully trusts God’s character, fear loses its power. Fear focuses on possible outcomes; trust rests in the faithfulness of God regardless of outcomes. The believer learns that even if hardship lies ahead, God remains sovereign and good.

The Bible instructs believers to actively release their burdens to God.

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”

1 Peter 5:7, KJV.

This is not passive language. To cast care upon God is to intentionally transfer weight from human strength to divine care. Fear diminishes as the believer refuses to reclaim what has been placed into God’s hands.

Walking under God’s direction requires faith rather than full visibility.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight”

2 Corinthians 5:7, KJV.

Faith does not demand advance knowledge of every mile ahead. It follows because it trusts the One who sees the end from the beginning. The believer does not need to understand the road when the Driver is trustworthy.

Scripture does not teach reckless or impulsive faith. Wisdom remains essential.

“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself”

Proverbs 22:3, KJV.

Letting God lead does not mean ignoring Scripture, rejecting counsel, or acting carelessly. True trust aligns with obedience, discernment, and submission to God’s Word.

Ultimately, the removal of fear comes not from controlled circumstances but from rightful authority. When God is trusted as the one who directs the believer’s path, fear no longer governs the heart. As the psalmist declared,

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Psalm 27:1, KJV.

When God leads, peace follows.

It is my prayer that all of you will consider letting God drive your car. As you place total faith in HIM, you too will see fear and anxiety leave your life. You will also see a tremendous burden being lifted, for things are NO LONGER your full responsibility. Trust Him, and He will guide you through any storm that you might encounter. I so bear witness of this.
