If GOD is all Powerful, Why Does it Appear that Satan is Winning? Is He? Seriously, Is He?

To all of you who have found sharing the true gospel frustrating due to the resistance in how it is being received, I can certainly hear your frustration. I too feel this deeply, which is why I decided to research and write this article. It feels like satan is winning the battle right now, but is he?

I struggle in thinking about many friends and family who remain caught in the web of deception in believing the untruths taught by my former church. How can they not see the truths that are taught by Jesus Christ, written in the Bible? They are ALL good, “religious” people…Why would God not lead them to the truth? We know that God has power, and it is obvious that satan has power too. Why doesn’t God’s power always “trump” satan’s?

It’s easy to feel discouraged when so many people ignore the Word of God. We look around and see deception everywhere, and it can feel as though Satan is winning the struggle for people’s hearts. Not just with some church members, but with society as a whole. But the truth—according to Scripture—is that Satan is not winning at all. He is only operating within the limited time and authority that God has allowed him during this present age. His activity is loud and aggressive, but it is permission, not victory. God has already set the boundaries and the final outcome.

One of the hardest realities to accept is that God does not force truth upon anyone. He draws people, He convicts them, and He opens eyes—but He never overrides human will. People often reject God because they prefer their own path. As Jesus said, “men loved darkness rather than light.” Satan’s deception works because many hearts are already inclined toward that darkness.

And in these last days, the Bible reveals something even more sobering: God allows a strong delusion to come upon those who refuse the truth. What may look like Satan gaining ground is often actually God’s judgment unfolding on hardened hearts. This deception, this turning away from truth, is not proof of Satan’s power—it’s the fulfillment of prophecy. Jesus warned that in the final days, faith would grow cold, people would depart from sound doctrine, and mockers would increase. What we see happening around us is exactly what Scripture promised would happen before Christ’s return.

Still, God is absolutely working in the world right now. He continues to open the eyes of the humble, the broken, and those who sincerely seek Him. Many people are not ready to be humbled yet, but He is still drawing souls, still saving, still revealing truth in ways the world does not recognize.

In the midst of all this darkness, God’s people are called to shine even brighter. The very fact that they feel this burden—this urgency to warn others and stand for truth—is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in them. That is light shining in dark times. Darkness does not mean that the light is losing; it means the light is needed more than ever.

The rise of deception, the hardness of people’s hearts, the silence of many religious leaders—these things aren’t signals of Satan’s victory. They are signs that his time is short. Revelation says the devil acts with intensity because he knows he only has a little time left. What we’re seeing isn’t the triumph of evil—it’s the desperation of a defeated enemy.

So if it feels like Satan is winning, understand this: you are watching the exact stage Scripture told us would come before the return of Christ. This is not Satan’s victory. It is God’s prophecy unfolding and His plan nearing completion. God is still saving those who are willing to listen, and He is strengthening those who will stand for truth in these final moments.

Perhaps, this is What you’ve Been Waiting For:

During the Tribulation, God will use the intensity of judgment to break through the hardness of people’s hearts and force the world to confront the truth they have long ignored. When peace is removed, when the foundations of society collapse, and when the signs in the heavens and on the earth become undeniable, many who once mocked God or lived in careless disbelief will finally recognize that these events are not random—they are the direct fulfillment of Scripture.

In His mercy, God allows the Tribulation not simply as punishment, but as a final wake-up call to a world drowning in deception. The Tribulation becomes the moment when excuses disappear, deception is exposed, and millions finally realize that only God can save them.

To those people in your life that you just want to “Shake” and scream, “Can’t you see God’s truth,” this is exactly what God Himself will be doing to them in the Tribulation period. To, “learn the hard way,” as He humbles them through the hardship of tribulation. It would be so much easier for people to learn these truths right now. =(

And finally, God will absolutely bring Satan’s deception to a complete and permanent end. The Bible does not leave this uncertain or vague. From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals a very clear plan: Satan’s influence is temporary, his deception is limited, and his final destruction is guaranteed.

As the end times unfold, Satan’s deception increases, but it is only because his time is short. During the Tribulation, even as he tries to mislead the world, God floods the earth with truth in powerful ways. The 144,000 Jewish witnesses preach the gospel. The two witnesses in Jerusalem testify boldly. An angel even flies through the sky proclaiming the everlasting gospel. At Satan’s darkest moment, God still refuses to leave the world without a strong witness to the truth.

When Christ returns at the end of the Tribulation, everything changes. Satan is seized, bound, and removed from the world for a thousand years. During the Millennial Kingdom, he has no voice, no power, no audience, and no ability to deceive anyone. Christ rules openly, and His truth fills the earth. The curse is lifted, and for the first time since Eden, humanity experiences life without the influence of the enemy. For a thousand years, Satan’s deception is completely stopped.

At the end of the Millennium, God releases Satan for a brief moment, not to give him another chance to deceive the world, but to reveal the final separation between those who truly love God and those who never did. Even then, Satan cannot deceive the nations the way he once did. His final rebellion is crushed instantly.

And then comes the end of all ends. The Bible says the devil who deceived the world will be cast into the lake of fire forever. This is the final and irreversible judgment. From that moment on, Satan never lies again. He never tempts again. He never influences a single thought or soul throughout all eternity. His voice is gone. His power is gone. His deception is gone foreverPRAISE GOD!

In the new heaven and the new earth, nothing deceitful will ever enter. No lies, no darkness, no corruption. God Himself will dwell with His people, and truth will be the only atmosphere we breathe. Satan’s rebellion will be a distant memory, locked away forever in the lake of fire.

God allows Satan to deceive now because this is the time when human hearts are tested, when faith is revealed, and when people choose whom they will serve. But this season will not last. Once Christ returns, the time of choosing ends. Judgment comes, truth prevails, and the deceiver is silenced forever.

Yes—God will end Satan’s deception completely. And that victory is closer than ever. For some of us, we must recognize that it is not through our “meaningless attempts” to get people to accept the truth…Nor is it that satan is winning this battle right now…But rather, we are all involved in God’s Plan in managing and defeating evil once and for all. Recognizing His plan is reassuring, and satisfies all of our concerns in trying to make sense of what is happening to us personally in these final days on earth.

  1. It is unfortunate that people are bombarded constantly with deceit and lies. Just look at all the people constantly on their phones on some type of social media platform just soaking up whatever is being delivered to them. Then look at all the people that watch and listen to news channels that broadcast lies. It’s a wonder that there are still some people that manage to find the truth. We followers must remember that despite all the lies and deceit, satan loses and we win.
