Peace in Israel?!?
As I watch each day, I’m only reminded that bringing peace to Israel and the surrounding nations appears to be IMPOSSIBLE. For my entire lifetime, there has been a great deal of conflict, and endless fighting over the land, especially the sacred spot of the “Temple Mount.”
Yet scripture tells us something truly amazing: There will come a time, very soon, when a 7-year peace agreement will be reached in Israel, allowing a new temple to be built upon this special spot.
Daniel 9:27 (KJV)
“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
*The “he” refers to a coming ruler, often understood to be the Antichrist, who will confirm a covenant (peace agreement) with many — likely Israel and surrounding nations.
*The term “one week” in prophetic language represents seven years (each day symbolizing a year, as shown in Daniel’s earlier visions and in Numbers 14:34, Ezekiel 4:6).
*In the middle of the week (after 3½ years), the Antichrist will break the covenant, stop temple sacrifices, and set up what Jesus later called the “abomination of desolation” (Matthew 24:15).
*This betrayal marks the start of the Great Tribulation, the final 3½ years of intense suffering before Christ’s return.
On October 13, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump co-chaired the 2025 Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The summit culminated in the signing of the “Trump Declaration for Enduring Peace and Prosperity,” a joint statement endorsed by leaders from the U.S., Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. Notably, representatives from Israel and Hamas were absent from the ceremony.
Amazing! Unprecedented! Yet in only a short period of time, the ceasefire was ignored and some fighting continued. Again, it felt like another step backwards, as those watching for this 7-year peace agreement let out a sigh of grief and disappointment.
But hold on for just a moment. With all of the progress and some seemingly loss of momentum, we have NEVER been as close as we are today is seeing this prophecy fulfilled. And there is also this:
Even though humans are making treaties, forming alliances, and negotiating peace, God is sovereignly orchestrating the timing and exact details. The fulfillment is ultimately His work, not ours, and it will serve His purposes for the final stage of history.
What appears to you and me as being an impossible task, is something that we are assured will indeed be signed. This seemingly impossible task also lends credibility that the only possible way forward for this peace agreement is with the overwhelming power and influence that our God has.
God will ensure that the impossible becomes possible. He has already authored the plan and timing for the final seven years, including the onset of the 7-year Tribulation, which begins with the signing of this peace agreement.
Through my study of end-times prophecy, I have concluded that the timing of this event is most likely to unfold in the year 2025. What?!? How can I make such a statement? Hold on, for I will share how I reached this conclusion in a moment. First this:
Why is this peace agreement so important to all of those who follow Jesus Christ? The answer is that it provides us with the timing of when we will return home, through a special event known as the Rapture of the Church.
Let’s go to the scriptures to see what the Bible has to say about the Rapture prior to the 7-year Tribulation Period:
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
- Explanation: This is the clearest description of the rapture itself (“caught up”).
- Pre-trib view: Supporters argue that this event is separate from Christ’s second coming to earth, which occurs after the Tribulation (Revelation 19). Therefore, believers are taken up before the intense judgments begin.
1 Thessalonians 5:9
“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”
- Explanation: The “wrath” is often interpreted as the coming Tribulation (and God’s judgment on the ungodly).
- Believers are promised deliverance from this wrath, which suggests they are removed before Tribulation events unfold.
Revelation 3:10
“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
- Explanation: Jesus promises the faithful in the Church of Philadelphia that He will “keep thee from the hour of temptation.”
- Pre-trib view: “Hour of temptation” is interpreted as the 7-year Tribulation; being “kept from” it is seen as rapture protection before it begins.
John 14:1-3
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
- Explanation: Jesus describes going to prepare a place and coming back to receive believers to Himself.
- Pre-trib view: This “coming” is distinguished from the visible, earth-bound second coming at the end of the Tribulation. This is seen as a secret, prior gathering of the Church.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
- Explanation: Talks about the transformation of believers.
- Pre-trib view: This sudden event is separate from Christ’s second coming in judgment, implying a prior rescue of the Church.
Rapture Indicators Prior to the Tribulation Period:
- Believers are “caught up” before God’s wrath (1 Thess 4:16–17; 1 Thess 5:9).
- Jesus promises protection from the Tribulation (Rev 3:10).
- The rapture is a secret, distinct event from the second coming (John 14:1–3).
- Transformation is instantaneous (“twinkling of an eye”) before global judgment (1 Cor 15:51–52).
So, shall we “Pack” and “Unpack” for the rapture based solely upon the news of the 7-year peace agreement moving forward or not? The answer is clearly NO! There is no reason to pack whatsoever. =)
But I have learned, in watching this topic every day for the past several months, that the only thing that we truly need to know is that it WILL happen soon. And, as I have concluded, in a highly unusual or spectacular way. Perhaps beyond logic, or how we would expect to see it unfold.
Now, why do I suggest or state that this will happen in the year 2025. Let me make it easy to understand. Follow along…
The Bible says creation took seven days, but some interpret those days symbolically, possibly extending to longer periods like 7,000 years, especially when considering scientific views of Earth’s age.
This period of time, 7 days, or 7000 years, is symbolic to God. The number 7 holds significant symbolic meaning in the Bible and is often associated with completeness, perfection, and divine fulfillment.
And, so in lies the logic of the time that mankind would spend upon the earth: 7 days, or 7000 years.
The idea that we are in or near the 6,000th year comes from a biblical interpretation known as the 7,000-year plan of God. This theory suggests that human history follows a 6,000-year period of work, followed by a 1,000-year Sabbath rest, aligning with the Millennial Reign of Christ (Revelation 20:1-6).
- 2 Peter 3:8 (KJV) – “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”
Are We in the 6,000th Year?
These verses suggest that each “day” in Genesis could represent 1,000 years, meaning:
- 4,000 years from Adam to Jesus (Old Testament period).
- 2,000 years from Jesus to today (Church Age). This is the 6,000th year upon the earth.
- 1,000-year reign of Christ still to come (Millennium).
Estimated Biblical Timeline
Scholars and theologians using biblical genealogies (like those in Genesis 5 & 11) estimate:
If biblical chronology is correct, we are at the very end of the 6,000 years.
- The key transition is Jesus’ resurrection, not His birth. His resurrection marked the beginning of the Church Age (Age of Grace), fulfilling the Old Covenant and ushering in the last 2,000 years before His return.
Timeline

Adam’s Birth 4000 BC
Jesus Birth 2BC
Jesus Death 32 AD
Beginning of the 7-Year Tribulation 2025 AD
Second Coming of Christ 2032 AD
Beginning of the Millennium 2032 AD
Jesus was Born in the year 2 BC and died in the year 32 AD. He was 33 years old when He died.
Understanding the Math
The Final 2000 Years shown in this illustration above begins when Christ died and was resurrected, (32 AD).
32 AD + 2000 Years = 2032 AD. This is when Jesus Christ will return to the Earth – 2nd Coming
2032 AD minus the 7 years needed for the Tribulation to take place = 2025 AD.
This will be the year that the Tribulation Period begins, 2025.
The Rapture happens BEFORE the Tribulation Period begins.
This means that in the year 2025, BOTH:
The Rapture and the Start of the 7-year Tribulation will begin.
Now, this seems to take some pressure off of constantly watching for this peace agreement to be signed. You also realize that if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you will not be here on earth to even witness the signing of this agreement, for we shall be “caught up” to be with Jesus in the Rapture.
Let us change our focus to what Christ would have us be doing right now: (Notice that all of these scriptures refer to the day nor the hour nobody knows. It says NOTHING about the YEAR).
1. Be Watchful and Ready
Matthew 24:42-44
“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
Mark 13:32-37
“But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. … What I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”
Luke 21:34-36
“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. … Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
2. Faithful Servants Are Ready
Matthew 25:1-13 (Parable of the Ten Virgins)
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.”
This parable emphasizes having oil in your lamp—spiritual readiness—so you are not left behind.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. … But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. … Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”
2 Peter 3:10-12
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, … wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.”
3. Keep Your Lamps Filled (Spiritual Preparation)
Revelation 3:3
“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.”
Revelation 16:15
“Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”
What Jesus Christ wants His followers to be doing right now is to be watchful of His coming. Have faith that you will be included in the rapture. Get to know Jesus Christ if you do not know Him, and accept Him as your Savior and Redeemer. Repent of your sins to receive the power of His atonement, and forgiveness.
If you are faithful in accomplishing these things, it’s time to assist God by bringing people to Christ right now, before the Tribulation period begins. You would be assisting in keeping these new followers of Christ away from the hardship of the Tribulation.
Do you think that this is too difficult to do, and that nobody want to listen to you talk about Christ? The conversation is easy and you are being nothing but helpful.
A conversation can begin with ANYONE, just asking how their life is, and “What’s it like to be YOU?” There is not a person alive today that is going to answer that without bringing up some hardship in their life. Trust me, I followed this same format as an UBER river for a year after I retired.
People, even strangers, want to share the hardships that they are going through with someone who simply asked. A follow up question is to ask “Where do you find peace in such a challenging time?” For me, this is a natural lead in to discussing the power of prayer, and the peace that you have found in your own life by finding Jesus Christ.
People are FACINATED with anything that has to do with the end times. Pick a topic like “The Rapture” and learn a bit about it. You can then state to this person, “Did you know that the final 7 years on earth will be the most difficult period of time ever in history? …And that you have found a way to escape all of the wrath that is about to take place here…It’s an event called “The Rapture.”
As you continue your conversation, you can let them know that there are only certain people who will be taken in the rapture… “Would you like to know how to qualify to be one who is taken?”
Then teach them what the requirements are in becoming Born Again:
Recognize that they are a sinner, just like the rest of us.
Learn of Jesus Christ
Accept Him as your Savior and Redeemer, as well as His Atonement
Repent of your sins
Live a life that honors Him
In its simplicity, sharing the gospel is teaching the way to find happiness and peace in such a troubled world. And, as mentioned, it is a way for them to understand how they can avoid the Tribulation Period.
I admonish all of us to start our day in asking God to lead us to those people who are anxious to hear the “PEACE” that is offered through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He will do so, as I again testify, as He filled my UBER car with just such people.
Don’t be afraid to discuss Jesus Christ. Many people are at their wits end with their life, and some are even praying that YOU will find them and show them the way. When the conversation reaches the point when you need additional information to share with them, invite them to your church, or even give them this blog address. I would be happy to continue teaching them about Jesus Christ.
One more thing that I have found effective is recommending that they watch “The Chosen” which has been on Netflix. Prescreen the episodes so that you can recommend the ones that you might feel are most appropriate for a new learner of Jesus Christ.
Might I suggest:
Episode 1 – “I Have Called You by Name”
- Introduces Mary Magdalene’s brokenness and how Jesus restores her.
- A powerful picture of His compassion and ability to heal the lost and hurting.
- Best first episode to understand who Jesus really is.
Episode 4 – “The Rock on Which It Is Built”
- Shows Peter’s struggles, debts, and pride — and how Jesus calls him anyway.
- Highlights that Jesus doesn’t call the perfect; He calls those willing to follow.
Episode 7 – “Invitations”
- Nicodemus meets Jesus secretly at night and hears the message of being born again.
- Beautifully portrays John 3:16 — God’s love for the world.
Episode 8 – “I Am He”
- Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well.
- This is one of the clearest portrayals of His mission: to offer living water to all people, regardless of their past.
Season 2: Discipleship and Growth
Episode 3 – “Matthew 4:24”
- Shows how Jesus heals many people and how compassion defines His ministry.
Episode 5 – “Spirit”
- Depicts the Sermon on the Mount — Jesus teaching about love, mercy, and the Kingdom of God.
I leave you with my prayer and God’s blessing as you continue watching for our Savior’s return, and in your efforts to find His children who are looking for the peace that comes through accepting the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I have felt a deep personal relationship with many of you who follow my blog. I appreciate your prayers and the love you have shown to me. I can’t wait to meet you in person on a “Beautiful Cloud” very soon. =)
