Prepare for the Final 7 Years on Earth – A Biblical Guide to “End Times” Readiness

Posted August 6, 2025 | End Times Watch | River Wilde

For centuries, Christians have speculated about the “last days,” but according to Scripture, a final 7-year period—known as the Tribulation—is coming. This will be the most intense time of spiritual testing the world has ever seen. Jesus Himself said it would be a time of “great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:21, KJV).

Many believe these events are closer than ever. Some scholars of the end-times are suggesting that this 7-year period will start in the year 2025. Wars, rumors of wars, moral decay, and rising global control all align with biblical prophecy. So how should believers prepare? Let’s look at practical and spiritual steps rooted in the Word of God.

1. Strengthen Your Faith Now

When the Tribulation begins, deception will sweep across the earth. False prophets, counterfeit miracles, and a one-world religion will rise (Matthew 24:24). Many will fall away from Christ because they were never grounded in the truth.

  • Daily Scripture Study: Hide God’s Word in your heart (Psalm 119:11) so you can discern truth from lies when Bibles may be outlawed.
  • Prayer Life: Build intimacy with God now so you can hear His voice clearly when chaos erupts.
  • Fellowship with True Believers: Surround yourself with those who love the truth, not the traditions of man or corrupt institutions.

2. Learn to Endure Persecution

Jesus warned that many will be hated, betrayed, and even killed for His name (Matthew 24:9-10). Preparing mentally and spiritually for persecution is vital.

  • Resolve Not to Deny Christ: Revelation 12:11 says believers will overcome “by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.”
  • Practice Forgiveness: Hatred will increase, but Jesus calls us to bless our enemies (Luke 6:27-28).
  • Count the Cost: Like the early Christians, we must accept that following Christ may cost us everything—including our lives. Christ died for us, will you consider dying for Him?

3. Be Spiritually and Practically Self-Sufficient

Revelation 13 warns of a future system where no one can buy or sell without the “mark of the beast.” If you refuse it, survival will be difficult.

  • Learn Basic Survival Skills: Gardening, water purification, and first aid could sustain you when society collapses.
  • Store Essentials Wisely: Joseph stored grain in Egypt during seven years of plenty to survive famine (Genesis 41). Prepare but don’t hoard in fear.
  • Have a Place of Refuge: Scripture hints at God leading His people to wilderness safety (Revelation 12:6). Seek His guidance now. This place might not be evident to you right now, but have the faith necessary that He will guide you should you need to escape the dangers nearby.

4. Stay Watchful for the Rapture

While the exact timing is debated, Scripture is clear: Christ will gather His faithful (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Many believe this happens mid-tribulation, after the Antichrist is revealed but before God’s final wrath is poured out.

  • Live Expectantly: Jesus said to watch and pray, for we do not know the day nor the hour (Matthew 25:13).
  • Avoid Spiritual Sleep: Don’t be like the foolish virgins who lacked oil when the bridegroom came (Matthew 25:1-13).

5. Share the Gospel Boldly

During these last 7 years, millions will still come to Christ—even as darkness increases. Revelation 7 describes a great multitude saved from every nation.

  • Evangelize Now: The window to share the gospel freely may soon close. We are free right now to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let’s take advantage of this freedom that might be taken away very soon.
  • Be a Light in Tribulation: When fear grips the world, your unshakable faith will point others to Jesus. Remember, OUR leader has more power than anything or anyone.
  • Support the Persecuted: Pray for and assist fellow believers globally who may be suffering first.

6. Spend Time Each Day “Spiritually Energizing”

With the arrows of satan coming in more frequently, we must be proactive in filling our spiritual gas tanks each day. Like our cars, we can only go so far before we need to refuel for the journey ahead.

  • Listen to music that invites the spirit to be with you. Music is one of the most powerful and comforting things that you can do, especially when you are feeling defeated or tired.
  • Search the scriptures specifically for uplifting verses or chapters. Psalms is a great place to spiritually energize, or even a “Romance Novel” as written in the Songs of Solomon.
  • Forget about yourself and serve others. I’m certain that you can relate to this. Each time in my life when I felt down, I would mow the neighbor’s lawn, or snow blow their driveway. In doing this I felt a new sense of positivity. Serving others, especially when they are not aware of your actions is indeed uplifting.
  • Offer forgiveness that you have been holding onto. This in itself is very freeing.
  • Begin each day with prayer, asking to be led to someone who need your help. Remember, God answers most prayers through the assistance of other people. Ask Him to put you into the game and find those who are suffering.
  • Be uplifting in your social media posts and responses. There is too much negative with good people attacking each other. Be supportive and uplifting in what you have to say. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. Social media is a great place to find others who are struggling.
  • Reflect on your own spiritual experiences that you have had in your life. God has been there for you in the past, and will certainly be there again for you in these final days.
  • And finally, let’s change our attitude from gloom and despair to entering into a New Adventure. Do you realize that we are about to experience one of the most significant periods of time upon the earth. This will be an adventure like no other. We know how it is going to end, so let’s take in the experience. Can you imagine the stories that we will have to share when we get to the other side? “YES, I was there going toe-to-toe with the antichrist, defending the Savior that I love!”

7. And Most Important; Take Everything to God for Conformation

You might believe in a current prophet of God leading your church. I respect that, for I once believed the same thing! However, do not follow him or any other man blindly. Take his direction that he is giving to you to God in prayer for your own spiritual revelation and conformation. God will speak directly to you through your thoughts and feelings. If they are not the same as what you leader just said, FOLLOW WHAT GOD HAS JUST TOLD YOU! You are not scoring any “faith points” by blindly following a man, rather, you are offending God by ignoring His council that He is giving to you. The church will be nowhere to be found after we pass into the next life…It will be just us and our relationship directly with Jesus Christ. You need to start listening to Him NOW vs a person who likely will deceive you in the last days.

The WORST thing that you can do is JUST WAIT for the end to come. Live your life in the adventure that you have been living your entire life thus far. Keep on living! Keep exploring this beautiful world which God has created. Learn to repel, go skydiving, or just live the life that brings you peace and comfort.

Final Encouragement

While the Tribulation will be a bit tense, believers must remember that God is still in control. Revelation 21 promises He will wipe away every tear, and His kingdom will reign forever. Preparing for the final 7 years isn’t about living in fear—it’s about being ready to stand firm, endure, and finish the race with faith.

“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:13

We’ve Got This! Now, get ready for a “Thriller!”
