If you’ve felt an unexplainable heaviness, confusion, or spiritual battle in your life lately—you’re not imagining it. The Bible makes it clear that as the return of Jesus Christ draws near, Satan and his fallen angels (demons) are intensifying their attacks on humanity. That’s right…The enemy is trying to make you as miserable as possible, but why?
Satan Knows His Time Is Short
Revelation 12:12 (KJV) warns us:
“Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
Satan isn’t wasting time. He knows the clock is ticking toward his final defeat, and until then, he is pouring out his wrath on the earth.
The Invisible War We Face
Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12 (KJV):
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
This isn’t just political unrest or moral decay—it’s a coordinated spiritual assault. Satan’s fallen angels are working relentlessly to deceive, discourage, and destroy as many souls as possible before Christ’s return.
How Satan Makes Life Miserable Today
- Deception: False teachings and worldly distractions pull people away from God (Matthew 24:24).
- Division: Hatred and chaos pit families, nations, and even churches against each other.
- Temptation: Sin is glorified while holiness is mocked (2 Timothy 3:1–5).
- Oppression: Many believers face spiritual heaviness, anxiety, and relentless trials (Job’s suffering is a picture of this).
But Satan’s Power Is Limited
The enemy’s fury may be fierce, but it’s not final. James 4:7 (KJV) gives us hope:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
And Romans 16:20 (KJV) promises ultimate victory:
“And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.”
Even during the coming tribulation, God will protect and strengthen His people. Satan can harass but cannot snatch away those sealed in Christ.
How to Stand Against Satan Today
To endure these last days, believers must actively resist the devil. Here’s how:
- Put on the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–18) – Gird yourself with truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and the Word of God daily.
- Stay Watchful and Prayerful (Matthew 26:41) – Constant prayer keeps your heart alert and aligned with God’s will.
- Resist Temptation (James 4:7) – When you submit to God, the devil must flee. Stand firm in your convictions.
- Speak and Live Scripture (Matthew 4:4) – Jesus defeated Satan’s temptations with Scripture; so can you.
- Fellowship with Strong Believers (Hebrews 10:25) – Surround yourself with faithful followers of Christ for encouragement and accountability.
- Proclaim the Name of Jesus (Philippians 2:9–11) – Demons tremble at the name of Jesus. Speak His name over fear, oppression, and spiritual attacks.
The enemy may be roaring like a lion, but soon, the Lion of Judah will return—and Satan will be cast into the lake of fire forever (Revelation 20:10).
You are not just imagining that things have changed in your life recently. Things are breaking down in droves, friends and family seem to be at odds with each other, and life seems like it’s sliding out of control. And, now you know the reason behind all of this.
There is peace in Christ. Call upon Him often. Let Him chase away the pesky angles of darkness who are harassing you. Satan will not win this battle, for that we already know. Don’t let him get under your skin with frustration by attacking you with all of these things. Just partner up with God through prayer, and He will assist you throughout these end times.
