Peace in the Crosshairs: The Latest on Israel, Iran, and Global Mediation Efforts

Posted June 19, 2025 | End Times Watch | River Wilde

In these critical days, the eyes of the world are fixed on the Middle East, where ancient tensions and modern politics have collided in a storm of military escalation and urgent calls for peace. The stakes are high. The potential for fulfillment of end-time prophecies is closer than ever. But before we get lost in fear, let’s look at what’s really happening—and how the world is responding.

The Current Crisis: Israel and Iran at War

The headlines are alarming:

  • Israeli airstrikes have reportedly struck key Iranian nuclear sites.
  • Iran retaliated with massive missile salvos into Israeli territory.
  • Civilians—both in Iran and in Gaza and Israel—are caught in the deadly crossfire, with over 450 lives lost and many more injured.

This is no ordinary flare-up. It is a dramatic and dangerous escalation that could draw the entire region—if not the world—into chaos.

A World Calling for Peace

While missiles fly, many voices across the globe are rising to cry out for peace and sanity.

  • Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has surprisingly offered to mediate a peace agreement between Israel and Iran.
  • Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has urged the United States to act quickly to defuse the crisis and protect civilians.
  • Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi, imprisoned in Iran, made a heartfelt plea for both nations to cease fire immediately.
  • The United Arab Emirates, Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom have all echoed one message: Choose diplomacy. Spare the innocent. Step back from the edge.

The Two-State Solution Delayed

Amid the rising violence, hopes for broader peace are also being tested. The United Nations had scheduled a major conference this month in New York to discuss a two-state solution—a path toward formal recognition of a Palestinian state and peaceful coexistence.

That summit, once seen as a rare chance for diplomatic progress, has now been postponed due to the outbreak of war. Peace talks have once again taken a back seat to missiles and military strategy.

Prophecy Watchers Take Note

For those who study biblical prophecy, especially through the lens of the King James Bible, these events raise serious questions.
Could this be the beginning of the peace agreement foretold in Daniel 9:27?
Are we witnessing the final pieces falling into place before the Tribulation period begins?

Whether you believe we are in the last days or not, one thing is certain: The world is changing rapidly. The calls for peace are growing louder, even as the weapons grow more powerful.

What Can You Do?

  1. Pray for peace—especially for innocent lives on all sides.
  2. Stay informed, but not overwhelmed. Discern the truth in a time of great deception.
  3. Seek the Lord. In uncertain times, the greatest peace is not found in treaties or leaders—it is found in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass…”
Matthew 24:6, KJV

Let us watch. Let us warn. But above all, let us trust in the Lord, whose Word will not fail.

I feel great comfort in realizing that everything that is happening in Israel is simply fulfilling the script of prophecy that has been given to us in the New Testament. To me, it is conformation that we will soon be returning into the loving arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We will then spend eternity with Him, in a glorious place. No more suffering… No more Death…Just pure peace, and joy… “I Can Only Imagine!”
